However, if you don't know you're supposed to install just, or you didn't know "just" existed, then it's just another mystery linux invocation which I'd need something like run.txt to figure out how to find or understand the Justfile contains useful invocations :(

I can imagine how your proposal of a new just-like format could help with that.

@mcc @glyph I don't know if I'll have the interest/energy to pursue this when I next get to a computer, but `run.txt` has me thinking of how one might make a literate just-file, or similar. A human prose description of processes that's structured enough to be compiled into a just-file (or interpreted directly). The documentation becomes part of the automation process, so remains up-to-date, while not *requiring* anyone to install the specific command runner if they want to run things manually.

For some years now, I have been playing a game of whether I can get to the end of my life without finding out what "cumtown" is. To this, I now add a stretch goal: Do not find out what "gastown" is.

This already happened until recently with Lothian and Borders.
