Apparently a crow in my neighborhood likes to remove my bike seat cover to pick on the seat.
I don't know why, but it's nice to know why the cover was partly removed regularly in the last few weeks!
I work with someone named Roxanne and it is a daily struggle for me to not say her name in a sing-song voice like Sting does in the 1978 song Roxanne.
@fesshole I used to work with someone named Ruby, so I can relate, too.
Who here is still using Gemini?
(the protocol, not the LLM)
@ChrisWere I'm still using it. More for reading than posting, but it is really nice slow-web. Text written for the sole purpose of being available to read. Personal, non-commercial, thoughtful stuff. HTML doesn't offer the same quiet isolation as Gemini.
@Canageek @jackielovescompchem32 Yes, and: "Scientist" as a term was coined to describe a woman: Mary Somerville, who studied physics, astronomy, and many other things
@belehaa @jackielovescompchem32 What I found hilarious was the main objection to the term was it was an Americanism and the brits didn't want to sound American.
Love that dude
@TheBreadmonkey he's pretty cool

I know it can be pretty disheartening as a developer who spent years perfecting the craft and building a fediverse platform, only to see new vibe coded platforms emerge.
But just remember that people can tell, and that vibe coders typically do not possess the knowledge or skills to scale their platform to hundreds, thousands or millions of users without writing a prompt to "fix bugs".
Our human made platforms will continue to thrive, increasingly so, as people discover this.
I was optimistic in a similar way until this year but now I've seen far too many people not care. People I was previously SURE would care, people who have built software with their own unique perspective now giving up their voice without realizing it. The amount of capitulation from users, developers and previously respected organizations is heart breaking.
I appreciate the work you do and I hope you are right.
Was waiting for a good moment to share my last photo of a lapwing. But I guess today is just as good as any day?
It’s taken in October and this was a lone lapwing among a bunch of geese. Look at those big wings! 🖤
138 Jahre hat diese Dame schon am Buckel und ist damit die älteste SchmalspurbahnhDampflok Österreichs. Und sie fährt noch immer Züge durchs Steyrtal, wofür sie annodazumals auch gebaut wurde.

I just merged some nice improvements for the video-calls in Movim.
Your webcam and shared screen is now displayed as an active participant of the discussion... and it is possible to control individually the audio level of each participants ✨
https://github.com/movim/movim/commit/82a02d0bf5324d4308e144557d0244a477bcb692
Step by step Movim is becoming the perfect decentralized, open-source and standard platform to do video-calls and streams. Don't hesitate to give it a try!

This one is from a walk down the road when I was living in France, (so I guess technically jour de mouton but give me some creative license!).
Just posting to say I'm still home. I've had my most violent seizure ever less than 48 hours ago. I was in bed, thankfully.
My heart has been putting me in trouble since then. I'm getting a bit better tonight, but have been in tachycardia all the time even at rest or when waking up. I'm below 120bpm when standing up today, which is a huge win already...
I'm not as much in pain otherwise I'd have been to the ER, but it's still really bothering and tiring
It got a website, a brand, a logo, and can't even break into an ATA
