Dunno how this even happens. #socks
That blows my mind.
@lowqualityfacts suspiciously high quality
They are cracking down at work and everyone needs to wear their ID badge. The reasons are sensible enough, there have been bomb threats at schools around NYC so all of the schools are trying to be more secure.
But, I think like most people I *detest* lanyards.
I've settled on a belt clip but thought I'd ask others who suffer under the ID badge wear it. Do you have a method you like?
@futurebird retractable belt clip here. We got a message from management a few weeks ago that it had to be worn above the waist, but no one actually seems to be enforcing that so I’m sticking with the clip.
I don’t think I’d mind wearing a lanyard, but I keep my badge in my purse when I’m not wearing it and the lanyard would just catch on everything. Also I imagine it gets gross after a while.

Today's Low Quality Ad is for this Build-on Brick Coffee Mug. It's a neat idea, but think how much it hurts stepping on a Lego. And then imagine how much it would hurt to step on a Lego AND spill piping hot coffee on yourself.

Nice, he actually said it!
When Hakeem Jeffries apologists defend him refusing to allow a vote for M4A, after James Talarico rode a blue wave in Texas on a message of passing M4A (something that makes me wonder if PAC money is at play), they say Trump would just veto it.
Trump is in many ways a simple, easily manipulated person and Abdul El-Sayed knows exactly how to do it: put his name on an ObamaCare replacement.

@LexPendragon Right? I love everything about this.
The situation in physics for women is better than it was at the first solvay conference. There are more female physicists now than there ever were before. I'm happy to number myself among them :3
@jackielovescompchem32 I'm still really amused about the editorial in Nature I read for a class arguing that they needed to use the Americanism Scientist instead of Man-of-Science SPECIFICALLY because it didn't include Marie Curie and she needed to be included as the best scientist in the world

I keep seeing this argument being made and it does not make sense to me. Does somebody think that if the party in the White House gets shellacked during midterms, that president is suddenly going to pick a chief of staff from the other party or something?
The dotard's existence is a middle finger to blue voters, but to MAGA fascist voters, this would be a perfectly normal move
This argument is illogical
Not only a great ensemble cast and a fun premise but also a fantastic theme song. Highly recommend finding a copy of “Dead Like Me” and giving it a watch.

In Gifu city. That was a big one.
I found this photo in an eBay listing for a batch of used pinball-machine balls in July of 2000.
I didn't bid, but I messaged the seller letting them know they absolutely made my day with this photo and they replied with gratitude. I even set it as the desktop image on a computer I used in the arcade workshop I worked in at the time.
It's been sitting on my hard drives for 26 years, and I no longer wish to keep it to myself.
