I got slightly carried away with one of the mapping challenges, making footprints of cities and then turned it into a little shop.
Make building footprint images of pretty much anywhere. Digital and physical prints available.
Even ordered one for myself 😂
And a note related to that:
“Why did you stop following them if they hadn’t fallen into the ‘AI’ trap yet?”
Because the “AI” turn is almost always preceded by a steady increase in fascist dog whistles.
@baldur : As if fascist dog whistles, by themselves, were not a good enough reason to stop following and supporting someone. And instead, just walk right out of that Nazi bar.

not. at all. i consider anything i put here akin to standing on my nearest street corner during rush hour, shouting into the darkness
confused how anyone could think anything otherwise.

How private do you consider your votes in the Threadiverse?
From the technical side anyone can spin up their own Lemmy instance and view all votes, but I'm curious at what the community's perspective on how "private" that is. I think Mbin already shows upvoters? Piefed allows anonymous voting. I also know there are sites which show all voting history, but assuming those are fairly disliked.
My general questions to the community: - Do you expect your votes to be private, or just not shown in the UI? - Would per-voter votes showing up on another aggregator platform bother you, even though your instance already shares them with other servers?
For context I'm the dev doing some two way bridge interop between atproto + Threadiverse, in atproto the votes/likes are generally publicly accessible, you just look at the users repo through something like pdsls.dev, they're readable and archivable by anyone. In my opinion this isn't that big of a problem since it's fairly hard to look at and discern (Ex all my votes: https://pdsls.dev/at://did:plc:lmdkqemqrqnfiix72pyjhfey/social.coves.feed.vote). Ultimately trying to figure out if there's already a mutual understanding that they are public and we can just mirror them or whether they should stay hidden as an aggregate.

Completely public
I do *not* need a portable metal folding bow.
However, I will still show it to you because it's kind of cool and I wonder just how compact and effective such a weapon could be.
@futurebird 40 lb pull is the low end of an adult compound bow. But it's sufficient to stab something at a distance.
Long sheep is long
They are cracking down at work and everyone needs to wear their ID badge. The reasons are sensible enough, there have been bomb threats at schools around NYC so all of the schools are trying to be more secure.
But, I think like most people I *detest* lanyards.
I've settled on a belt clip but thought I'd ask others who suffer under the ID badge wear it. Do you have a method you like?
@futurebird I clip mine to my hi-viz vest but that probably isn't helpful
Unsurprisingly, Mr. Ragebait himself, Andrew Solender, is the person most impressed with the campaign to replace Hakeem Jeffries. 🤣

@Colman A skill I've acquired ... and it's a skill that requires significant effort and training ... is explicitly to create a separation between activities. In some of the worlds I inhabit, physical proximity is expected, and there are rules around that, similar to yours would be in ballet. In other worlds, physically proximity is effectively forbidden.
I do ballroom dancing, have done circus skills, and in both of those contact (with rules) is expected.
I work in schools, where it very much isn't.
Explicitly creating the mindset can help, but isn't foolproof.
So I see where you're coming from, and appreciate the challenges.

@ColinTheMathmo @girlonthenet @neil it’s the code switching inside almost the same context that gets me. There are people
I see in class and workshops fairly often with whom I have a work friend type relationship and those I have to remember to take an appropriate personal interest in.
But it does leak a bit.
I love how the "AI industry" just utterly falls apart the moment it's clear they may face real opposition, regulation, and even the smallest amount of scrutiny
Had a wild dystopian/post-apocalyptic dream where I was with a group of survivors in a rundown office building that we were thinking would make a good home base. I had to take a dump and that’s when it dawned on me that there’s no running water, or even toilet paper, and that shitting inside would be embarrassing. This is something they need to address in the next season of Fallout.
@Unabart
When everything has turned to shit, the world is your toilet.
