Conjecture: Et si le gouvernement avait en main les outils pour forcer la conférence sociale à aboutir à une hausse générale des salaires ?
Happy Friday! This is a message for my fellow imposter syndrome sufferers and anyone else reading a boost to their mental health:
You accomplished more this week than you think. And you probably left a positive impact on more people than you think.
Give yourself some grace, and enjoy the hell out of your next day off.
I needed this :)
Please send me a few artists on Mastodon to follow. Boost for reach. Thanks.
Dinner.

GrapheneOS Check-in: I should have moved properly to Graphene ages ago. I kinda miss having an NFC Wallet app, but it's not been a big deal.
It seems like many of the UK banking apps don't have the same reliance on Google Play Services as US/EU banks seem to.
i would like to remind you all as the AI bubble starts deflating that not too long ago scammy altman was talking about creating a dyson sphere to power AI
it's important none of us forget the soaring heights of their stupidity or how the majority of tech press took this shit fully 100% seriously
Senate 2027 Majority Leader Whip Count Detail - Update 11/6/2026
Prospective whip count of 2027 Democratic Senators who are likely to support and oppose Chuck Schumer for Majority Leader. Those listed in opposition have either made public statements that he should be replaced or waffled when asked if they would support him. Those listed as supporters have either stated their support or are pretty solid moderates generally known to be in the Schumer camp.
in order for Schumer to *not* win the Majority Leader spot, somebody has to run against him.
You'll have to endure another shameless job offer from my workplace, but it's a really cool job, so I thought I'd share this:

We're looking for a (Senior) Embedded FPGA Developer (m/w/d).
We're looking for folks with deep knowledge about (Xilinx) FPGAs, PC hardware, Linux. Networking would be a bonus point.
It's a new codebase and I promise it's interesting 😎
Fully remote (in Germany).
anyway instead they did a technofascist wealth transfer attached to a cult of the machine god designed to put myself and all my friends out of jobs and now i'm known as a hard line anti AI activist

I don’t expect my votes to be private, but I will vote as if they were. People reading too much into why someone might have voted a certain way and trying to shame them for it is embarrassing, I’m not going to constrain myself to reasons for voting that are immediately legible to anyone via only one bit of information just for their sake. If I want to downvote something with, for instance, a political message I agree with but the person phrased it in a way that goes against my pet peeves, I’m gonna do that, and I think the ideal would be for these numbers not to be taken very personally or seriously.
So basically I’d say it’s bad taste to put it in a UI, but only so far as it encourages people to be weird about it, and ultimately that’s on them.

On Lemmy? As others have said, they’re automatically federated and so anyone can see them.
On Piefed though? I have a user setting where I can choose whether my votes federate and I can override that default on a given post if I choose with a hot key. That’s how it should be. IMHO, more of y’all should use Piefed.
On the other hand, setting local votes means that your vote doesn’t count for the vast majority of the verse.
Dinner.

@disroot guess I need to look for another nextcloud instance :(
@liaizon if it's only calendar or similar, how about a Baikal instance instead? It's pretty light
it’s a wicked world in all meridians; I’ll die a pagan.
So namecheap just randomly locked my domain (which I've had with them since.. 2006) until I send them a valid government ID.
No complaints about the domain, just a random check. What the actual fuck?? #Namecheap #DNS
Dial-up, but not to an ISP as such. Local call to another computer which had Internet access by means unknown to me.
@max Local call into some random box with internet "by means unknown" is very mysterious. Did you ever find out whose machine it was?
Sorry, the app encountered an unexpected error
