@fluffy@plush.city aha, I didn’t have to get involved in any of that nonsense, I only ever used Macs (or Atari STs) and they just worked. But we had SCSI and terminators and fussy chains of peripherals such as some SCSI hard drives which can be used together with a Magneto-Optical disc drive, and only in certain order of connections or with certain SCSI leads, but not if it is Tuesday or you’re wearing green socks

@u0421793 they won't understand assigning I/O ports and IRQs and sometimes DMA channels, using jumpers, trying to find the combination that lets you connect your mouse AND your printer AND your sound card all at once

@mastodonmigration I don't see how Colom isn't in the Schumer camp. From news reports, Schumer apparently literally went down there and talked him into running. And it worked. I'd expect that to matter.

(Which is another way to say that's Schumer's not bad at _everything_. He's the wrong person to lead at this point in time, but he's not without real qualifications, and _some_ of his political instincts are actually good.)

(And yes, I contacted both Senators to oppose his leadership. I don't want him to hold power, I'm just saying there are reasons he'd held onto it, and _some_ of them are _legit_.)

@peter For somebody who injects teenager blood or whatever bullshit he does and also as someone with unlimited funds for healthcare, he looks remarkably bad. Also, does he get his haircuts from some dude behind the bus station? 😁

If you've got potato plants growing wildly towards the sky, I know you're meant to hill them up but would it also make sense to, like, prune them a bit to remind them they're supposed to be producing roots/tubers not leaves? Or does producing more leaves now help feed more tubers later?
