A close examination of the Whakaari / White Island volcanic eruption of 2019 in which 22 lives were lost, the film viscerally recounts a day when ordinary people were called upon to do extraordinary things, placing this tragic event within the larger…
The Volcano: Rescue from Whakaari
@apps Are those cuties your birds?
@pussreboots
Yes, they are. I also have cats and dogs that learned to live together.
We've seen a dramatic increase in rejects from Microsoft with 'Message lacks SPF/DKIM/DMARC' even on domains with correct SPF + DKIM. Anyone else seeing this? Have they changed their policy on requiring DMARC records?
@beasts Do I need a trailing semicolon?
Oh yay! Someone just bought one of the To the Nines CDs I'm selling on my Bandcamp page 🎉
(If you see this, thank you!!)
I'll be getting it ready to ship out in next few days once I've processed the shock and excitement that someone ordered one, hehe.
But as this means I'll be needing to take the trip out to drop the CD off at my distribution centre soon, does anyone else want to grab one too? The CD comes in a 2 panel full colour print jacket with gloss UV coating 💿
lovely, the #KeeWeb app for #Nextcloud appears to have been abandoned
@deutrino For far too long…
no you didn't cause any damage while you were wolfing out i just walked you to the park and you chased the frisbee a bunch and then we went home and i took a photo of you and captioned it "lycan has cheezburger"
@paul he chose Miller because he thinks he will be 25th Amendment repellant
@filmfreak75 how do you figure, he’s not in the cabinet?
C'est aussi pour sa tête de raton-laveur que je l'ai choisie
I misread this as cursed rather than curated at first, and my brain kinda just went along with it until the end.
@remmy 😁
it's certainly plausible in context given the crowd on there!
@ratcatcher @tarajdactyl Most banking apps already work on GrapheneOS. See https://privsec.dev/posts/android/banking-applications-compatibility-with-grapheneos/.
“What you’re asking for doesn’t exist, you should get a dumb thermostat” is also a valid answer to my question, just to be clear. I don’t know what I don’t know.
@Gargron
I too wanted something like what the "Nest" thermostats did, but with the Google/Amazon/Honeywell and the others.
Venstar seemed like the least big corporate nonsense, but can be cloud or not, it can do wifi to home assistant...

1-in-1000 year rain event (again)
(NWS confirmed... Blue Ridge, Georia)
@ai6yr As you write (again) I wonder how many years have past since the last one. I guess it were much less than 1000.
And still there are too many people out there that don´t want to see those changes.
@ratcatcher @tarajdactyl Revolut works on GrapheneOS.
See https://privsec.dev/posts/android/banking-applications-compatibility-with-grapheneos/.
"your proposal is not gonna fly because we can't make it work with systemd scopes"
i'm sick of flatpak and portals and gnome and anything related
@beko @bekopharm Purge the heretics!
@newline did so really good. Thing died a few months later so I guess that was too late 🤪
It's still somewhere on the attic but I couldn't get it to boot any more. Lights on but no one is home.

Fediverse
If your “anti-abuse” security requires your software to be closed source, then your software is not secure. Well built software can be open source, and still secure.
You imply that your code could not prevent abuse if it was known, so, no offense, but that code must be pretty bad!
I like the fediverse because it distributes power. I, as a user, have the power to choose my instance, choose my moderation, choose the structure that my social interactions are built upon (threads based, microblogs, etc) and if I dont like something, I have the power to change it. Thats why open source is such a perfect fit to that model. Closed source federation then, sounds to me like you didnt get it.

Please no. Fediverse, open standards, open source, free software, no bullshit.

A large northwest swell is forecasted to arrive Sunday. This swell is forecasted to create breaking waves of 22-24 feet for west and northwest facing beaches. These large waves can be erratic and unpredictable. Mariners attempting to cross bars are urged to use extreme caution or stay in port. Use extra caution near the surf zone, remain safe, and never turn your back to the ocean!
