The Cybertruck is now self-driving to a metaphorical scrap yard: After years of subpar sales, Tesla plans to stop manufacturing its polarizing, pricey metal box of a pickup truck in mid-2027. https://www.pcmag.com/news/tesla-to-wind-down-cybertruck-production-focus-on-cybercabs

Happy Bridgetown fundraising day! 🥳
We've just announced new goal tiers to help focus on what we're trying to accomplish as we build up a sustainable financial picture.
It's not hyperbole to state that continued maintenance and feature development of the Bridgetown #WebDev framework for handcoders is at risk.
Please help spread the word, and do what you can…even if it's just to tell a #Ruby friend. Thank you so much for your support! 🙏

@JustaJason007 there is something really like... pride inspiring? about seeing folks you grew up with in the sense that theyre just kids like you were and now were all grown and look at how real shit people are, its so wild feeling. sometimes to me the world feels kind of static and this is wrong, it is changing all the time and kids today are going to be examples for their peers some day and will take up positions that, in my mind, belong to other people or maybe no one.
im rambling. its exciting that as the world changes we get to see people we thought were one thing become something else and seeing that growth is so fascinating.
Let us please keep this straight MSM ... AI stocks didn't drop because of the Democrats. They dropped because their artificial valuation was protected by grifters and con-men in power shoveling funding to techbros to support their authoritarian takeover of democracy.
The people valued accountability over the stock market. The money was never actually there, and still isn't there, which is why the tech stocks will continue to fall....

I don’t watch TV but I read the news on the news websites on my phone.
If I wouldn’t have a phone I would subscribe to a newspaper.

If that happens then maybe its users will switch to Lemmy or PieFed when they realize it’s the same network

May be my age, but I am most comfortable with watching videos of people talking in normal ways. I despise both the shouting contest of many (American) vloggers and tha ASMR style of others. I am a normal person. So talk to me like you would to someone standing next to you :)

IDK even if it was completely vibecoded, who cares? It’s another funnel to bring people into the Fediverse. You don’t need to use it yourself, just be glad that there’s more ways to get people in here. It’s a different design with different UX, there’s always the chance that this will hook people who didn’t enjoy Lemmy/PieFed/Mbin/etc. The more the merrier.

Its strange how hostile people are being. And people are assuming everything is vibecoded at this point.

If your “anti-abuse” security requires your software to be closed source, then your software is not secure. Well built software can be open source, and still secure.
You imply that your code could not prevent abuse if it was known, so, no offense, but that code must be pretty bad!
I like the fediverse because it distributes power. I, as a user, have the power to choose my instance, choose my moderation, choose the structure that my social interactions are built upon (threads based, microblogs, etc) and if I dont like something, I have the power to change it. Thats why open source is such a perfect fit to that model. Closed source federation then, sounds to me like you didnt get it.
