Why are your containers running sshd you know never mind
Ours have never been sour. Tart maybe, but not sour.
Quartered calamondin does very well in cheap Irish whiskey and improves it nicely.
Duck ala calamondin is basically demanded by my in-laws annually.
The zest goes very well in creme brule, using the juice to melt the sugar for the top brule.
Calamondin & ginger cardamom cookies.
Rhubarb & calamondin crisp.
Or just thin sliced on fish then high broiler.
@ai6yr And that shopping center may be cursed—a car went through the front of the running gear shop at the other end of the row a few years ago!
@cvwarren Oof... they need bollards.

And there it went again... at 9:56.
@serge someone forgot to start an NTP daemon

for the non-americans reading (and the americans who probably don't know why this matters) the railroad commissioner of texas does not have anything to do with railroads. they stopped doing that in 2005.
instead, the texas railroad commissioner regulates the oil industry in texas. and, de facto, the rest of the continental united states, since texas is big both in terms of land and economy, and has a lot of the oil
@linear Railroad commissioner is one hell of a sick job title, actual railroads or not.
I’m visiting the Obama Center on Saturday with Jess and friends. Does anyone know how long he works the gift shop on weekends?
@chartier only on the second Saturday of the month….
@lydiaconwell The scary thing is that I have no way really of knowing if it's getting better or worse. I think it's always been bad, but I can't remember how bad it was last decade or the one before.
@pre I don't think my memory's too bad but I've noticed how I rely on the internet to remember things (or spell words correctly).
I suppose the instant-ness of the internet makes us a bit lazy when bothering to remember things. Or it's the overload of information, much of it not strictly important to oneself. I'm often retelling information but not remembering where I saw it, whether it was on TV or internet or in a book.
Australians who have hybrid office/WFH arrangements: How do you do telephony? Work-issued mobile? Work-issued computer with soft phone app? BYOD with a work app? BYOD with your personal number? Don’t do voice telephony? Boosts OK.
@futzle teams is used with handsets disappearing off desks. I only answer calls via my work laptop so good luck trying to contact me out of work hours when it’s turned off! I quietly removed my personal mobile number from any contact lists back in 2020 when WFH arrived in a rush as I quickly worked out people were going to abuse it.
“Iran is a…threat to the Western way of life…” I have absolutely no theory of mind for a person who could say a thing so absurd. You’d think Xerxes was marching on Athens. Can someone, anyone, please steel man the thesis that Iran will destroy the Western world unless Pete Hegseth stops them? People would immediately recognize it as the raving of a paranoid lunatic if it wasn’t being repeated on television by men in suits. So ridiculous.

One of the main objections I have to "large model" AI is that it is a form of piracy that fails to serve as an accurate form of archival. https://vis.social/@bleeptrack/117560078386333325
Every AI scraper develops an archive of copyrighted works that would put any library on earth to shame. Then they only let you access it it horrifically garbled, with semantic noise added, and through a straw
@mcc first they steal it, then they go bankrupt, then they sell the data for pennies
