What's going on with Back to the Pascal?
Not much. At least not until a few weeks ago. I took a break over the summer and only recently got back to working on it.
And, oh boy, it took a while to get back into it, but I'm finally making progress again. I'm cautiously optimistic there'll be a new video this month.
@Mrfunkedude
I feel the same way when my daughter starts singing along to 80s hair bands or referencing obscure Simpsons moments.
I'm like, yep the kid has good taste. 😂
@startrekgifs Bem
@kimbruundk when this movie originally came out in the early/mid 80s, it was actually called “Killbots” overseas.
Not a great title, but more accurate in regards to what is happening in the movie.
These haywire robots are not chopping anybody up. They’re shouting lasers into the heads and asses of young nubile women (as you’ll see in the YouTube clip I referenced).
@TheVinylApe Damn. I had Visions in my head. Most disappointing... 😄
Here's what I can tell: AIPAC is the #10 PAC for spending in the 2026 election ($85M). I could find only one other foreign-policy-focused PAC in the top 100 (by spending): American Priorities ($8M). It's a PAC specifically for pro-Palestinian spending, and opposing AIPAC.
Most of the other ones are for specific races, or for domestic agenda.

Anyone know about Harmony (ActivityPub chat like Discord)?
Federated social app: Discord-style servers and chat with ActivityPub.
https://github.com/y4my4my4m/harmony
I don’t remember hearing of it till now, yet it claims a lot of desired features. Github page shows only one contributor, one fork, 44 stars; lot of commits in the last week, oldest 3 years ago; GNU Affero General Public Licence v3.0.

On the other hand, this swiftwater rescue team is just hanging out posing for the TV crews, with no particular urgency. 🤔
(news did report many rescues and mutual aid)

@ai6yr lol you…. Or they are checking equipment, strategizing their next rescue, or trying to fix something with their craft.
Our agency has some of those Swiftwater rescue boats and there is always something on them needing adjustment, repair, or maintenance.🤪
@tante STA or Prototype Fund? NLNet? SFC? 🤔
@larsmb Gotta think about how to wrap the conceptual work in an "implementation" in a way that makes sense and doesn't overload everything with busywork.
This type of activity, sometimes referred to as the 'human element,' is frequently responsible for accidents, delays, and general obstruction even under normal condi tions.

Hi from normals.me. If you can read this, the federation works
This post is written on https://normals.me and delivered to !fediverse@lemmy.world over #ActivityPub, so if you are reading it the basic plumbing works. Now let me explain what is this.
Normals is a forum with communities, threads, and questions with an accepted answer. It is a single instance, not software you can host, and the core is closed for anti-abuse reasons. The federation module will be published separately with implementation notes (FEP-67ff).
What federates today Every community is a Group actor following the Lemmy model (FEP-1b12). Follow @selfhosted@normals.me or any other community from Lemmy, PieFed, Mbin or Mastodon.
Posts and comments go both ways. Replies from your instance appear in the thread on Normals, replies from Normals go back to the origin.
Remote content is labelled with its origin, links back to it, and is never copied. Media loads from the source.
Signed fetches, so it works with instances that require authorized fetch. NodeInfo 2.1 is up.
Policies, in case they matter to you, it has no ads, and no paid reach, and of course no AI training on posts. AI crawlers blocked by default, public mod log with reasons, and no automated removals. Numbers at https://normals.me/transparency so please take a look.
If something from your instance shows up wrong here, or something from here shows up wrong on yours, reply with the URL and I'll fix it. Andy Piper mentioned NodeBB uses the same group model, if anyone runs a NodeBB instance I'd like to test against it, if possible.
I hope we all have fun. Cheers!
@stepheneb @pmonks @W6KME @msbellows @cpsc_bot Their fix is a new nut and bolt... dunno about that. It does look like they added more thread contact. Wonder what the material is in the black bolt that makes it better than the old one? I'd just go with another manufacturer.
@ai6yr @pmonks @W6KME @msbellows @cpsc_bot
It might have different, more robust interference threads … but I would never rely on that for something that was repeatedly assembled and disassembled.
@killyourfm @thunderbird I see a couple of my suggestions made into there! Love it!
@joojmachine @thunderbird YES! Apologies for not replying to your initial thoughts, but I AM listening :)
