1960s Batman TV show aged a lot better than it used to
@fluffy I would like to hear more of your thoughts on that if you are willing to share.
The OpenPGP card stack is now complete on FreeBSD! Joining oct, openpgp-card-ssh-agent and openpgp-card-tools-git just landed in ports:
oct: manage YubiKeys, Nitrokeys & co. from the CLI
https://www.freshports.org/security/openpgp-card-tools/
openpgp-card-ssh-agent: SSH login with the key on your card, works with standard clients
https://www.freshports.org/security/openpgp-card-ssh-agent/
oct-git: hardware-backed Git signing and verification
https://www.freshports.org/security/openpgp-card-tools-git/
Private keys never leave the card. 😃
Thanks to Heiko Schaefer ( @hko ) & ( @wiktor ) for the tools and Älven for the commits!

Anyone know about Harmony (ActivityPub chat like Discord)?
Federated social app: Discord-style servers and chat with ActivityPub.
https://github.com/y4my4my4m/harmony
I don’t remember hearing of it till now, yet it claims a lot of desired features. Github page shows only one contributor, one fork, 44 stars; lot of commits in the last week, oldest 3 years ago; GNU Affero General Public Licence v3.0.

Good thread.
@heidilifeldman yes.
@_bydbach_ I love your posts of this view. Thank you.
thinking a lot about the concept of "chair stacking" today, and its power in organizing online communities https://www.jonafato.com/2024/12/20/stacking-chairs
Dissatisfied with off the shelf game engines lately, been working on my own little cross platform framework, targeting turn of the millenium hardware.
In this test project I haven't animated the player mech's legs so just pretend there are wheels attached 🙏
@voxel Pretend wheels work because the slide genuinely reads as intentional movement.

Fortunately, there's a reliable, rigorous, and efficient safeguard against tally system errors and malware, and it works with almost any voting system that has reliable paper ballots. It was invented about 20 years ago by Berkeley statistician Phillip Stark. The method is called "Risk Limiting Audits" (RLAs), and is regarded as the gold standard for protecting elections against tabulation errors or malice.

@_bydbach_ Today?
@heidilifeldman yes.
@BenAveling @scruss If you see biologists running, you just need to outrun the slowest one. If you see chemists running, try to keep up with the fastest one. If you see physicists running, there's probably no point in running.
@trinsec Where? I don't see it
@piggo@gs.rypak.cz Oh not Core settings, my bad. It's an option in Editor settings, Readable line length. Just turn it off and it'll use the full width of that column.

@killyourfm so beautiful - I'd like to go there some time. But it's more than a hike from sweden 😃
My wife has been put in charge of devising an AI policy for her school, and I started a little project to collect AI critical material that she can feed to her colleagues. I'm making a point to include not just the direct impact on education, but also as many other aspects as I can find.
It feels somehow empowering to collate this material for her.
I could probably use a few more German-language sources.
A large number of the Democrats who won are far more antisemitic than the Republicans they replaced, and in primaries, the DSA won huge numbers.
Trump having less power is one measure by which we can examine the US- and certainly it's an important one, a critical one in fact.
But it's not the only one.
When you have people now in office who talk about the so-called "Zionists" and excuse or encourage attacks on Jews domestically, I see that as a change, and good for the world, but not a change I can celebrate.
