Last night's election results were hard to believe.
We are so used to disappointment followed by despair.
I actually woke up in the middle of the night and had to look again to be sure the blue tsunami was real.
It was.
This morning Summer wanted to sit on our deck and ponder. She looks towards the ocean but she can't see the wave. I told her that it is one of those things that you feel in your heart and soul not see with your eyes.
She asked me what's next?
I asked back what she wants to happen?
Summer who is wise says the Democrats have to buckle up and keep their foot on the gas.
Run right over anything that gets in the way of creating a government for the people and their pets.
Just say no to the billionaires.
I promised that we will keep reminding our representatives who they work for.
Together.

I think a lot of people want something resembling justice to actually happen. When it is always about "moving on" one begins to wonder whether the value system is connected to the behavioral system. And this is why the "Democratic Party Leadership" is so distrusted, and considered to be spineless, at best, if not simply bought. The real democrats are working at the ground level.

Black women turned out at 94% Democratic. Black men at 77%. Every non-white voting bloc leaned Democratic by double digits. White men voted Republican at 61%. White women at 59%.

If you want a progressive agenda in this country, it must be acknowledged and respected, that it runs through Black folx.
