I notice you’re not actually writing this message from lemmy but piefed.
Piefed has many features lemmy does not so ensure you choose the right fediverse software for your own needs.

Make sure you have some proper protection for the signup would be my main feedback, those that allow completely free registrations quickly get infested with spam bots and then their instance get denied federation by the other instances.

JD will spend the next two years gaslighting us that he had nothing to do with Trump policy and in fact is a kidnap victim forced to say all the vile things he said...

"Vice President JD Vance placed the blame for the Republicans’ wipeout in the midterm elections squarely on the war with Iran, and said supporters of the war would have to reckon with the fact that they may have surrendered control of Congress for years as a result."

Happy ApeFest Day to all who celebrate! On this date in 2023, more than 60 collectors of the the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs who attended ApeFest in Hong Kong woke up blind after experiencing "welder's flash" from high intensity UV strobe lights at a dance party. #otd

Code is read more often than it is written.

The more code there is involved in a system, the more reading must be done.

Therefore the most important change control to implement in any system which will see long-term maintenance is to rate-limit the addition of new code to keep reading easy.

Tonight on Star Trek: Discovery Ensign Tilly crosses into the mirror universe to steal a pizza ordered by their counterpart yet the writers don’t even care about the A plot, or the B plot, or the C plot. It’s really not clear at all what is going on and then the episode just ends.

@glyph @whitequark what if the PMC is a trick. what if the PMCs are all actually PMCs and they're trying to distract us with namespace collision. what if they're just waiting for the signal

@burnitdown For so long…

IT has been nowhere in sight...

@LunaCOLON3 @brooke The AP C2S API works almost exactly the same as the AP S2S API, just the inbox and outbox's roles are reversed

The data does not lie.

Black women turned out at 94% Democratic. Black men at 77%. Every non-white voting bloc leaned Democratic by double digits. White men voted Republican at 61%. White women at 59%.

If you want a progressive agenda in this country, it must be acknowledged and respected, that it runs through Black folx.

Black women specifically.

@daringfireball Two major takeaways:

1) Corruption is going to be much harder now that Democrats have supoena power.

2) The margin of victory means that Democrats are not going to be held hostage by a few fringe whacko's.

Lets document the corruption for the next two years, and then (after 2028) pass the kind of anti-corruption legislation that we haven't seen since after Nixon resigned.

So far, I like what’s been built here. There are a few things I’d change, but they’re not dealbreakers. My main concern is the voting system and how it works. Otherwise, Lemmy seems like a solid option. I’m not sure how much voting can be disabled or changed on an instance.

I’m considering either hosting a Lemmy instance for nightash.net, where I currently run a traditional forum, or building something closer to the architecture I described here .

I’d appreciate feedback, especially from people who might be interested in using it.

@fesshole We had this too! Weird pervert teachers "checking you're washing properly" in the communal showers after PE. *shudders

@LunaCOLON3 @brooke It's not only a thing, it's a core part of the protocol. It didn't take off because Mastodon was the biggest adopter of the protocol and already had an existing API, and decided to stick to that API and just adopt the S2S part of the spec, since the Mastodon API was, amongst other things, part of its brand identity
