The car is drivable, hit at about 40-50kph as I was coming down a (notorious) hill but a number of cracks in the front bumper, the hood is skewed slightly, possibly slightly crumpled, and the headlights is mis-aligned.
Full size deer, so I’m honestly surprised there isn’t more damage.
*sigh* not what I wanted to happen today….in many ways.
I really really don’t like being responsible for the death of another being. 🥺
Also… this is obviously my main mode of transport to/from work and #doordash. And yes, I was dashing at the time (thankfully going to a new order, not delivering)

@ieure I fell into a research rabbit hole and went to feel a bunch in person. Landed on the Demeyere Industry5 series, and they are *really* well made. The Atlantis7 series is supposedly better for induction, and has significantly higher thermal mass, and sealed edges--but it is extremely heavy, and for ??? reasons ??? the saucier lid is apparently terrible.

I’ve survived a lot of Florida hurricanes, but this is the first time floodwaters have trapped me in the house. The water levels aren’t budging because it rained for a week and the ground is so saturated that there’s nowhere for the water to go. I have food for maybe 3 days.
While this is an exciting night, anyone who has been around a circus knows that there's a lot of work involved in cleaning up after elephants once the show is over. #USElections
