It's just past 8pm & we've had 58 trick o treaters since 6:30pm. We're expecting more before we run out of treats. We've been giving out Taiwanese crackers, guava & tamarind hard candies, Chinese fruit jelly cups & mixed mini chocolates.
Firecrackers have been going off for hours.
We are setting up self serve for rest of the night.
We are watching the Thai horror anthology, Terror Tuesday Extreme, for rest of the night.

Rayven/Heng went door to door trick o treating for first time this year. His parents dressed as scarecrows. They had a great time 🎃👻🙂
@trinsec make sure you put them upside dow and shake them!
We found a lot of money in books, put there by paranoid old folks that completely forgot about it.
(we put it back on their bank accounts btw)
@StroomAfwaarts@todon.nl 😁 I don't think my mom's put money in those books.
@edstink is that supposed to look like he went to a craft store, bought some brown felt, cut and glued it to his head?????

Just received a more concerning report from Santa Fe County Fairgrounds. Before details about it, I want to emphasize that I’ve alerted the Santa Fe County Clerk who is headed there directly. There is no violence or imminent danger. Voting continues normally. 1/

Fediverse memes
Good luck admins! And if you're fresh from Reddit, welcome!
It’s much better here! It’s nice and cozy, kinda like Reddit circa 15 years ago.
For your memes we have !memes@lemmy.world and if you’re a programmer of some kinds we got !programmer_humor@programming.dev to scratch that itch, if you like sciency posts mander.xyz has some excellent communities (communities=subreddits) like !science@mander.xyz, !biology@mander.xyzand !astronomy@mander.xyz and for a meme science combo there’s always the fantastic !science_memes@mander.xyz
You can also drop a shit(post) off at !lemmyshitpost@lemmy.world or hang out at !onehundredninetysix@lemmy.blahaj.zone (though you do have to post before you leave that one!)
If you want to explore the world of PC Gaming on Linux check !linux_gaming@lemmy.world or for more general Linux !linux@programming.dev and we even have a Linux meme comm at !linuxmemes@lemmy.world (we like Linux around here lmao)
For news !world@lemmy.world is excellent and for US focused news !news@lemmy.world and !usa@midwest.social
Want to ensure your privacy in this crazy world? Checkout !privacy@lemmy.dbzer0.com
And of course, the best for last, the best comm on the Lemmy-verse, !bikinibottomtwitter@lemmy.world !!! Just make sure to buy a krabby patty!
We’re not without our cons though, biggest problem we have are probably the Tankies, but here they’re mostly on what’s known as the Tankie Triad: lemmy.ml, lemmygrad and hexbear. For the most part, grad and hex are widely defederated from (Users and content of those instances won’t be “synced” and you won’t see them) and you only have to worry about .ml, but on Lemmy you can do a personal instance wide block if you’d rather just not deal with them. .ml tends to be more subtle opting for censorship of dissent before things get crazy on their threads and allowing certain propaganda to flourish (If you wish to see documentation of it, checkout !meanwhileongrad@sh.itjust.works ) Here on Lemmy all moderator actions are public and available for viewing on what’s known as the “modlog”
Obligatory, fuck Spez
Just did the 100% migration today! Takes some getting used to, but I finally did it. Redact and all.

You might not think one investor couple could leave an entire historic downtown district in ruins - but that's exactly what happened in Brownsville, PA https://www.abandonedamerica.us/brownsville-pa
@majorlinux Not everything is about your country.
@jackyan I know not everything is about my country.
Never said it was.
What I said is we don’t have time to vote.
We need to deal with the threat now!
Not wait every 2-4 years to plead to those who don’t answer to the will of the people to not kill Black and Brown people all over the world.
Voting is a tool, but it is the least effective in a society that does not abide by the demands of the majority.
Now, are you gonna help throw the people off the bus or wait for another vote?
Y’all seen Jeff Bezos’ new “hair?”

MASSACHUSETTS!!
I come to you with a DIRE WARNING from your FUTURE.
This is because I have lived in your future. And it is called CALIFORNIA.
You want to vote NO on questions 3 and 5 today.
Both maybe actually sound good to you! But both have been tried in California, and they were DISASTERS.
Question 3: Chaos and brokenness you cannot now anticipate
Question 5: Stealth repeal of the Millionaires Tax. Watch this video where a Massachusetts Guy explains it. https://www.reddit.com/r/Somerville/comments/1xj2aoh/question_5_is_the_closest_race_out_of_all_9/

@mcc "I have lived in your future. And it is called CALIFORNIA." would be a great opening line for a novel
