So I would assume that this graph works that way because they're not allowed to count the actual votes ahead of time, but the names of the people who voted, and how they registered is a public record.
@apLundell the point is when we register, WE DON'T DO THAT.
We _do not list a party affiliation_ when registering. And we have _open_ primaries.
And yet, they're saying "registered Democrats" and "registered Republicans" in Washington State. Which _are not things_. We _do not do that_.

@cyberlyra we need more of these initiatives. Leaving this here for people as a neighbour project.
More AI-driven Clean Room reimplementations please :)
Nearly 1 in 5 US workers in a survey said they’d been laid off or replaced by AI, then asked to return.
Separately, 32% of organizations that cut staff expecting AI savings reported rehiring.
Companies are discovering that automating tasks isn’t the same as replacing employees.
Of course, the flip side is that 68% of companies surveyed that made AI-related layoffs didn’t report rehiring workers.
So not all AI-driven layoffs are backfiring.
@carnage4life Surely that's got to be "1 in 5 laid off workers was rehired". Else you can mash the stats together to infer 3 in 5 US workers were laid off!
Crypto has also stopped spending big for Democrats in general elections. In 2024 it put $10M apiece behind Slotkin and Gallego. This cycle, no Democrat has drawn more than about $1M, and those are safe incumbents who voted the industry’s way.

In South Carolina, the AI industry is making its biggest general-election bet: about $5M behind Republican Darline Graham. $2.5M came from Building the Future, a Leading the Future arm that appeared in October and hasn’t spent on any other federal race. Her opponent calls her “Data Center Darline.”

I’m fed up with all of these radical leftists and their extreme policy positions, like “Healthcare” and “People with more money than they could ever spend should pay a little bit of taxes sometimes” and “Maybe the planet could be a little less on fire.”

Crypto- and AI-focused super PACs have poured nearly $250 million into this year’s elections. Tonight we find out what it bought.
Here’s my guide to the races to watch, where the money went, and which results could embarrass the industry: https://www.citationneeded.news/2026-election-guide/

Hey Erica, check out TheIndieBeat.fm — @mizkirsten
Is definitely going for an early MTV vibe with it. There’s a community group of Fedi-musicians who have even started streaming videos there.
And, if you’ve got something else in mind, then we should talk (or DM, or whatever) I’m up for any project that brings creative people to the Fediverse.
Thank you, Ben!
Ericka, I'll reach out separately to see if you're interested in collaborating :)

@konstantinosd Go play that thing and tell me I’m wrong!!!
@ThreeOhFour But I know that you are right. Naughty boys tend to be.
this proposal is good if you want the entire internet to become operated by meta and to have it illegal to run your own fediverse server

its impossible to overstate how disastrously bad the actual proposal is lol. why do politicians who hate big tech continue to introduce legislation that further cement the hegemonic powers of big tech platforms?
also, this proposal explicitly wants to ban 'pull to refresh' because that creates addicition lmao
so mad at myself for falling for the campaign to position Kathmann as a digital savvy MP
