Is there a way to not see duplicate of the same topic across different communities?
Hi everyone!
I’m really enjoying the Fediverse through Lemmy and Peertube.
Two creators I enjoy and follow on the Fediverse are Dash and Gardiner Bryant (both work on The Bryant Review) as their content is really enjoyable.
Sadly they are the target of my post as they shares their content on many different communities that I follow.
Today I had 5 times the same topic on RetroDeck (great project too) on my feed on Lemmy (Voyager).
It is the same on PieFed (Interstellar).
This is really annoying and I haven’t found a way to not show these duplicates. Do you know about one or is it worked on?
Also when crossposting, it would be great if everything appeared under on post. Is it feasible?
Sorry if it’s easy and I just missed it. In a way I hope it is because it would mean that the Fediverse is festure rich😇
Edit: Added Dash as she was in fact the one who published the article. Also it appears that the issue is only on mobile apps since both the browser of Lemmy and PieFed don’t have it.

People do love these platforms, and they continue to grow. Marketing is something that most fediverse developers struggle with, and for me, I make it a priority.
It explains why Pixelfed is the 2nd biggest platform, because people know about it.

Ich glaube, das ist nur jetzt grad der LLM - Hype.
Ich bin da optimistischer, dass nachdem die Blase geplatzt ist und sich die Nebel gelichtet haben. Es gab ja vor 2022 schon ne Menge KI-Forschung und durch den ChatGPT-Moment hat jetzt die ganze Welt gelernt, dass KI richtig viel kann. Das wird dann auch diejenigen voranbringen, die all die anderen machine-learning Verfahren nutzen (und darunter nicht nur die social-media Plattformen).
@framlin Der ChatGPT-Moment war aus meiner Sicht eher Augenwischerei.
Sehr viel Werbung und Geld für Sachen, die ihre Versprechen größtenteils entweder nicht eingehalten haben oder so viele Nebenwirkungen hatten, dass sie mehr schaden als nutzen.
Ich sehe den Moment eher bei AlphaGo: da wurde bewiesen, dass Maschinenlernen bestimmte Probleme lösen kann, die wir aktuell anders nicht lösen können.
Und seitdem wird versucht, jedes Problem mit Rechenleistung zu erschlagen.

@semilanceata any tricks to cleaning off the juice? I have been collecting for the past years and have enough to do something serious but the main thing I am stuck on is getting them to a state I can touch them without getting so much slime. I guess a lot of achahol and gloves should get most of the way there but if you have any tricks I'd be happy to hear
@liaizon This won't help you much but I've mostly been finding this model and the batteries come out quite easily and clean. I do peel off the tape because I feel that's the most sticky part...

The delightful thing about the fediverse social network is that it continues to 🌱 grow and 🐣 evolve at a natural pace.
What exists today does not stand "on the shoulders of giants", but exists due to many fine people dedicating their time, energy and passion. Fedi is a collaborative achievement.
The fediverse delightful lists also celebrate their decade of existence. They were ported from Feneas, the Federated Network Association, which no longer exists today. But it provided furtile soil.
The 3 fedi curated lists track "anything ActivityPub-fediverse related" with a focus on providing inspiration and references to the developer community, to encourage them to build more FOSS projects and enrich the ecosystem.
The lists keep track of current project but also still highlight the many 👻 inactive or dormant projects so they can still help inspire others.

This is the kind of funding the Fediverse actually needs. Better tools are great, but without people making things worth watching or listening to, we’re just building increasingly elegant infrastructure for arguing about infrastructure. Pairing creators with developers is a genuinely smart move.
