Well I didn’t know you were Dash. I feel honored that you answered to my post.

I enjoy reading your articles on the Bryant Review and I’m sorry if I thought that Gardiner wrote the article about RetroDeck when in fact it was you.

Thanks for taking note of the fact that the method you were using was creating duplicates and I hope crossposting solves the issue (although half of the duplicates shown on my feed were from Lazorne and not from you). If not, it ain’t such a big deal, just a small annoyance.

At least everyone now knows that the Bryant Review and RetroDeck are great and deserve to be known for it!

@jpp Not yet, but promised. I'm hopeful we'll be able to push this hard in NZ. Not for this election, but for all future ones.

How to live in the age of AI - Gautami Reddy

Hi #Retrocomputing Fedi! I'm teaching a #computing #history course next semester; as part of the course, we want to showcase some period hardware from the "first four generations" of computers (vacuum tube, discrete transistor, SSI/MSI logic, LSI/VLSI microprocessors).

In this vein, I am hoping to acquire one or more digital flip-flop modules in both vacuum tube (e.g., #IBM TR-x) and discrete transistor (e.g., #DEC flip-chip) technologies. If would like to sell or donate one, please contact me!

@Andres4NY Proposal #3 is the one where I am most likely to be wrong, in my opinion. Many many people I know and think well of agree with you that the city property section is not a dealbreaker because the street safety provisions are just so valuable.

I genuinely don't know what the rules are for what a Charter Revision Commission can and can't put into a ballot proposal; looking at New York Consolidated Laws, Municipal Home Rule Law - MHRL § 36 https://codes.findlaw.com/ny/municipal-home-rule-law/mhr-sect-36/ I think it doesn't have any provisions about bundling etc. The Legal Counsel division of the NYC Law Department https://www.nyc.gov/site/law/divisions/legal-counsel.page is the one who actually crafts the legal language proposals would enact and advises the Commission on legalities, so I imagine they okayed this.

So I guess we'd have to change MHRL § 36 at the state level.

Good morning fediverse! It's November. I'm going to publish a holiday shopping guide for stuff you can get from mountain town industries in Ellijay, GA, USA, soon, but until I do:

My newsletter at https://joyfulrevolution.ghost.io covers a lot of our work

We make toys @MountainTownToys and you can buy them at https://mountaintowntoys.com

We also have original video games (Roms and gameboy color cartridges), fiction, and USB video discs, as well as a huge assortment of new toys made by other people at the above url.

We have coffee roasted in Ellijay at https://gamountaincoffee.com

We have music on CD, LP, and cassette at https://analogrevolution.bandcamp.com and https://analogrevolution.com

We run a bookstore at https://hemlockbazaar.com which carries fiction and nonfiction from around the world, including a number of titles that are very hard to find anywhere else in the country.

I'll also do custom orders for fedifolks. If you'd like a USB video disc of any film or program in the NETV library, a mixtape of analog revolution (and associated) music on cd, cassette, or flash drive, or prints or posters of any of work work, at any size, hit me up for a price.

@djmitche I apologize, but if you don't already understand the difference between "something could possibly happen" and "something has actually happened", I probably lack the tools to explain it to you.

@heidilifeldman "Good news. The Roberts court has already denied the Trump regime’s motion."

I'm relieved to hear it. You never know with this Court.
