I'm going to have to sell some tapes and some books to make up for it, but that's not too bad.

@cobalt123 let's hope it works! 🤣

With regards to the November 3rd midterms:
DO NOT CELEBRATE IN ADVANCE!

COMPLACENCY IS THE ENEMY!

VOTE!

@stux is he gonna feed them or eat them

Thinking about the midterms. Good luck

That blew my book budget for the month maybe two months, but when I go to Asheville, I get books. That's how it works.

“the loudest voice in the room is a poor guide to the rest of it.”

This is from a blog post about D&D, but it’s not just about D&D.

“When by continuance of decoction the colour changeth to white, they then call it their Swan, their Dove, their white Stone of Paradise.”
(PHILALETHES)

"Almost all of its symbolic meanings, however, concern the white swan, the bird of Venus, which is why Bachelard suggests that, in poetry and literature, it is an image of the naked woman: «permitted nudity, immaculate and permitted whiteness»."

@malte @ifixcoinops @reb The problem with that is you're making seven bucks an hour to stack groceries and can be fired for any reason, if a tech rings up and says "hey can you push the scary red button on the fridge for me" you're gonna say "get fucked".

The real problem is capitalism, where the ever present push to do more with less drives one guy sitting in an office someplace responsible for 300 fridges across the continent, none of which are built right.

Vote.

That's all, just vote.

No matter what.

Use your power before it gets stolen from you.

I also picked up the DIY Film Roadshow book I was talking about over the weekend, a Marshall McLuhan joint, and a couple of books about Nigerian cinema from one of the used bookshops in town.

In the meantime, wherever you live, gather anybody you know who hasn’t voted yet and take them on a party to the polls. No need to vote alone. Cast your ballot and go for a beer, coffee, tea, or cocktail. Celebrate your say in government. Enjoy telling a would-be dictator to suck it. 6/6

@femme_mal The radar totals were... much higher! Let me go look.

Come on #Canada … your turn

@ai6yr It's still raining. I haven't rechecked our rain gauges but I am betting they overflowed quite while ago. We received more than 10 inches south of Brevard county.

ABC News video now shows Port St. Lucie - note the Wundermap precip sensors below, nearly all grossly wrong; depending on location I think after 12-24 inches they just gave up, resetting to zero.

@hkrn the face he always makes, like he's thinking through the world's hardest problem and coming up with the answer right now 🤮

thats gross
