It’s reassuring to know that Emacs will always be older than me.
Nonetheless I am proud of what we made, even under such duress. They are great little games, and it saddened me when eventually they effectively became lost media, as iOS and Android changed and became no longer able to run them. I even heard of people keeping an old iPad around with an old iOS on it, just to be able to run them.
So I'm delighted that now they can be played and enjoyed again.
@llamasoft_ox I was an Apple games reviewer and tech journo for a very long stretch. It's ironic that you and I suffered the same experience - the complete devaluation of our professional value to drive corporate profits. It happened in very different ways and at different timelines for each of us, but it ran in parallel. It broke your heart. Mine too. Now far away from tech altogether and better for it.
I'm delighted these games are available again. You got done dirty. They deserve some love.
@ai6yr opinion: they’re a super neat idea. but … has nobody yet made one that’s set up as an air handler for a preexisting mini-split compressor?
that seems like such an obvious win-win for home appliance integration …
now if only appliance durability was increasing over time, like technology suggests it should. rather than decreasing year by year like capitalism demands …

Oh my Gosh. Okay, this is me!
One creator I enjoy and follow on the Fediverse is Gardiner Bryant as his content is really enjoyable.
First off, thank you so much! Really appreciate you enjoying the articles we put out 😊 One think I might emphasize here though is that so far as the site goes, Gardiner and I are partners! This is one of my articles though (so I’m to blame for this appearing so often in your feed). In fact I’m 99.99% sure Gardiner doesn’t actually share his articles on Lemmy at all.
I’m sorry it appears like this. It used to annoy me back when I was regularly on Reddit, when a post was cross-posted to a different community I’d have to follow that link, read their description of the post, then follow the link then go back a few steps to start/join the discussion in that community. Since joining Lemmy and sharing here (it has been a long time!) I just went against that grain and posted in the communities it was relevant to, to give each community a space to chat about it.
I had no idea your app was showing it this way, or that how I was doing this was annoying anyone. I’ll just go back to the age old cross-post method instead, going forward. Interesting that your app shows it this way, the one I use seems to do that for me.
Sorry to annoy you! It won’t happen going forward :)
Well I didn’t know you were Dash. I feel honored that you answered to my post.
I enjoy reading your articles on the Bryant Review and I’m sorry if I thought that Gardiner wrote the article about RetroDeck when in fact it was you.
Thanks for taking note of the fact that the method you were using was creating duplicates and I hope crossposting solves the issue (although half of the duplicates shown on my feed were from Lazorne and not from you). If not, it ain’t such a big deal, just a small annoyance.
At least everyone now knows that the Bryant Review and RetroDeck are great and deserve to be known for it!
successfully did a netplay tic-tac-toe game on Gamelord modem
That'll clean right up. No problem.
But the transom itself might be rotted out and I'd bet money the motor is fried.

@me_valentijn Yeah, that car is going to be totalled, I bet... if it's under the carpets.
We kept trying. We thought maybe we could increase the price slightly, from the default 69p or whatever it was, but when we tried to ask for a couple of quid people said it was "too expensive". It felt like small game dev had been utterly devalued.
By the time we'd done this nine times my spirit was pretty much broken. And iOS was mutating even further, as the devaluation of paid game dev led to the mutant emergence of all the recurring paypoint trickery that is now so prevalent on mobile.

The Trump administration is openly meddling in European democracies to promote far-right political parties that support Putin and to advance the commercial interests of Trump allies.
Trump tried to bring down Poland’s government.
He urged Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz to leave the governing coalition.
The aim was a Polish government subordinate to Washington.
🇪🇺Europe must stand united and defend its sovereignty.

You’re not alone in this wish, though I’m sure that doesn’t surprise you. I sort of accepted it as just part of how a federated reddit-style forum would work, but if there’s a way to address it, that would be very cool.

I'm curious what the deal is with the plastic bottle of muddy water? LOL.
