Wow apple Maps doing absurd propaganda for Israel here, putting destroyed buildings back into the Gaza images
Absolutely shameful whitewashing of a genocide for Israel
M45 under a 40% illuminated moon. It's a little more moon than I like to work with, but I hadn't had a clear night for so long. I wanted to redo the Pleiades this season with a smaller scope. The last one was with my 6-inch scope, and I wasn't able to frame it all.

Sometimes not giving users choices is the right call.
As the article states, SuspendToDisk has lots of issues ranging from writing too much to SSDs, suffering from being impractically slow to needing too much swap space and clashing with secure boot to the point that hibernate is unfixable broken on a lot of modern laptops.
Exposing such a feature in a distribution targeting casual users will just cause a lot of confusion and maintenance effort.
I might not agree with every Ubuntu decision, but here Ubuntu clearly made the right call.
If a user knows what they are doing, nothing ever stopped you from calling systemd hibernate, exposing this via GUI is the issue.
@GrapheneOS I see that the update includes the Pixel 6?
I was told that support for the Pixel 6 ended in late October. Does that mean there’s some kind of extended support?
Is there any information on how long the extended support will last? And how much longer can I keep using my Pixel 6?
Thanks!
@pmkl The update guarantee for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro has ended. There hasn't been an update they've missed yet. It isn't known exactly when that will happen yet but they may miss the November 2026 update and definitely won't be getting Android 17 QPR2.
You should stop using the Pixel 6 once it misses the first update. That could be as soon as today's update. It should not continue to be used regardless of whether we do extended support since that doesn't provide firmware/driver updates.

@Jer @Gargron - That is a separate question from Gargron's - but important as we're seeing here.
First, I haven't read anything that says the individual devices or management system was "exposed to the internet". They may have had connection to a centralized control and business intelligence system via the internet but within a VPN or similar.
This reads like the malicious hackers got some sort of foothold within the network first (even within a distributed network) and then pivoted either to a management system or to the devices themselves.
The next follow up questions is why would a local store's OT network be connected to a corporate OT management network?
That's similar to asking "Why isnt all ICS airgapped?".
And the answer could be a number of things such as:
- The need for centralized operational business intelligence collection for regulations or operations
- The need for remote control as the control team might be small and not able to be deployed to every single grocery store at once
- It was built to spec and that spec no longer applies and it costs way too much to upgrade (these are older devices. The "just upgrade" is often monetarily impossible as they have to replace entire devices not just issue a software patch)
Et cetera, at all.
@tinker
Incorrect.

"Rolando" is harvesting marigolds on CAs Central Coast just in time for #DiaDeLosMuertos. The marigold is sometimes called Flor de Muerto (“Flower of the Dead”). These flowers are thought to attract the souls of the dead to the offerings and ensure eternal peace.
@ufwupdates oh,and do they use those flowers during burial ceremonies only?
