And imagine if you agreed to the deal and next week Putin decided to declare war again… Now imagine this happening for every single peace agreement he has ever made with your country.

So, on @DavesVintageAppleTech 's stream I started waking up these #StyleWriter II / 1200 printers from a 15 years slumber, but print heads were dry.
I had to bathe them in hot water, and force some water and alcohol in with a syringe through both the head and the venting hole.
…
I understand the point of this [formerly serious newspaper that has devolved into fluff] profile of #MarissaMayer (former CEO of Yahoo!) may be rage bait, so I am not including a link to it.
But ouf, reading these words (which have been widely circulating online) has been painful, especially as a mom.
You can't think of 3 qualities that make your child special, so you ask an AI Assistant? NO, NO, NO, NO. UNACCEPTABLE.
I imagine Marielle reading this and my heart breaks for her.
@_elena i learned some time ago that when corporate asks you about your relationship with "AI" it is a trick question. they couldn't care less about what uou really think or ecen what the actual reality is. it is like asking "how much do you love big brother"... these profiles of execs are nostly just marketing. and the question for them is similar: how much are you with "us"? the answer from marissa is clear: i am willing to put my own child at the altar as a sacrifice - that's how much i'm in. it is scary. and it may land her her next job.

I used to just… not vote. Didn’t like the people running but they were all mostly the same in my eyes. “Do I want this rich old white dude or that rich old white dude”
I didn’t even bother.
Then a rich old white dude came around that was actually measurably worse than the other rich old white dudes. So I had to start voting against him.
It sucks. I want to go back to not caring.

I’m torn. I do want you to care, because people like you with your head in the right place not caring may have contributed to politics getting to the place it is.
But I want politics to be boring again, too. So shall we say, when this blows over, back to caring intermittently, like a little, around elevation times?
@neil No, but the rest of the interface in the screenshot doesn’t look like 5.0 so I don’t know if it’s related.
I am running the glitch-soc fork, which has, I think, some aspects of 5.0, but not all of them.
(I'd happily test it more thoroughly if it did, but I don't know if that is on the cards or not.)
In Finland, Google chopped down 250,000 trees, without a permit, to make room for a shiny new data centre.
If you are still using Google, maybe it’s time to ask yourself whether its services are worth a quarter‑million trees and why we have to sacrifice so much of our nature.

@DJDarren I like what you've done there!

@davidgerard @fatsam @vivtek On France: the 1789 revolution didn't come out of nowhere: the government collapse and revolution happened in stages, over a period of years. Leading up to it there was massive stratification of wealth, persistent failure to reform the tax system, France was waging a global war at vast expense (the US war of independence was just a side-show in the war against the UK), there were massive frauds, a wealthy, corrupt idiot in charge … sounding familiar yet?
