Oh my fucking god, that stupid fucking Activist Checklist website that doesn't listen to feedback and has mushy as fuck threat models is *vibe coded* including *content*
STOP RECOMMENDING IT. IT'S FULL OF BAD ADVICE.
@Jorsh Horgan did a great job grooming Eby to drop moral/ethics & go for more power & money. He became as arrogant & self serving as his kingmaker. The kingmaker who only quit after his popularity rating dropped hella low & he'd already secured himself a cushy coal industry job, but lied about that in his retirement speech too.
Rolled a knobbly condom over the dressing on my dog's injured paw, covered by a taped-on sock. Forgot to remove it in time so vet saw it in front of my mortified teenage daughter, then invited all the staff in to admire my ingenuity.
@fesshole we used to use them to protect expensive condenser microphones during outdoor recording or PA jobs.
@f4grx @hakan_geijer @naceugene @activistchecklist effectively. We need new words to discuss the pathways that lead to to this kind of sabotage, because it's not limited to individuals. Colonial capitalism is a decentralized cult with basically everyone being a sleeper agent if pressed the wrong way.
@mitsuhiko Amazing to see how few responses you got on Bluesky. Is that repräsentative of what you usually get in terms of interactions on the three networks? Just curious?
@michael That's because bluesky does not have a poll feature, so classified the replies instead

some feedback about Lemmy/PieFed from Reddit users
I’ve tried both [Lemmy and PieFed], and the UX is incredibly unintuitive and unpleasant. The main problem is that it’s quite hard to discover content you want while avoiding content you don’t, Bluesky at least has really good custom feeds that are easy to add (the default feed sucks). Another big issue is the general site layout, it’s hard to figure out how to do things as simple as saving a post for later or how to go back to the feed without being redirected back to the post I’m trying to exit.
Maybe they didn’t see the “Feeds” feature in PieFed? The top navigation menus in PieFed are a bit messy. Although shareable blocklists could be cool too, or maybe toxic?
That’s excluding the horrible lack of contrast most frontends use, which makes reading and parsing the site elements unnecessarily difficult (no Lemmy, grey text on a grey background is not good for readability).
I like the Lemmy colors, but maybe it should be easier to change, because they might like the darkly-pureblack theme.
Fediverse feels slower, but not in a good way. More of a ‘if I don’t use this for a week, I’ll see new things’. If I log in after 2 or 3 days, I’ll scroll for 10 minutes and see the stuff I saw last time.
Maybe this is a UX issue of not finding the right feed they would like.
I’ve tried using lemmy and have exactly the same issue. After blocking all the politics stuff, left wing meme stuff and tankie stuff there’s bugger all remaining. Even with all the blocks I’ve made it just seems to be a bunch of toxic left wing people calling each other fascist because of some minor difference in opinion.
I also want nsfw stuff now and then. I hate how censored the internet has become, at least with reddit if I want to see a bit of porn, I can.
Again maybe a UX issue of not presenting what communities they could subscribe to.
I tried twice to join those forums within the Fediverse and I can’t get past the captcha test. The fact that you need approval to validate your access doesn’t seem designed to encourage you to recommend it.
The captchas on Lemmy are AWFUL, I can’t do them either.

(that’s the “Medium” difficulty)
Lemmy v1.0 is adding the ability to do invites, so maybe there will be an invite-only instance that gets some momentum, that could be cool. Invite sites seems like a cool old-internet type of culture.
The fediverse stuff is way too complicated for me, Reddit is very easily accessible and actually has active communities for the topics I’m interested in.
Of course these are naturally going to be all negative because they’re users that bounced off the Threadiverse, but there’s probably hints to what can be improved
NEW: Officer Jaron Alexander says he didn’t come back to Ingram, Texas, to help deport his neighbors.
But one year after joining ICE’s 287(g) program, his department has handed over the equivalent of 10% of the town.

At first glance, I saw that as, "But one year after joining ICE’s 287(g) pogram"
Actually pogram seems more accurate, don't you think?
Pogram: an act of organized cruel behaviour or killing that is done to a large group of people because of their race or religion

I don’t think it was actually the php issue that took it down, but I don’t wan’t to rule it out entirely. But I had some issues with spotty remote connection for a while now that that is likely due to LLM scraper load.
Oh yeah, I was teasing about the php. From what I’ve read it’s wicked hard to real-world implement an attack using it.
Scrapers, I’d believe. They’ve been fierce lately.

@reiddragon @fasterandworse @zzt @ozzelot convenience is always a sliding scale. Compared against a traditional phone, less convenient. But if you were curious enough to figure out workflow on a tablet, then it was a lot more convenient.
Microsoft really didn't get enough credit for how they broke android at the time to do a lot more, including drag and drop for files and media, better gesture interactions. It really did get close to having a mini Surface in your pocket.

ok so
how do I make this work properly for exported builds
do I just change the filter to *.nut.import and fix up the filename after?
more succinctly:
is the .import file being exported to the resource filesystem guaranteed or is it bad to rely on that?
Sorry, the app encountered an unexpected error
