What makes software engineering so challenging - more often than not - is people.
I've worked with a bunch of technically very capable devs who routinely failed because they couldn't do the people part.
You can't learn to do it on your own.
@lritter I wrote this elsewhere as well, but if people are already having unhealthy relationships with their chatbots they will absolutely fall in literal love with this.

From Fort William I ride (and hike) to Loch Ossian / Corrour Station where I stay at a pretty interesting Youth Hostel. It's sort of a big bothy with electricity. One has to take their own trash. The night gets so cold that I get my freehub frozen, and "have to" enjoy a long breakfast in the Corrour Station House.
From there I ride to Pitlochry, where I finally take the train + ferry back home.

I enjoy taking my handheld radio frequency jammer to the psychic clairvoyancy events my wife drags me to. The panic on the "psychic's" face when their assistant looking everyone up on social media behind the scenes gets replaced with static in their ear is brilliant.

Block, the payments firm formerly known as Square, has released Dessa, a speech-to-speech AI model trained from scratch on nothing but human conversation. It handles audio directly instead of transcribing to text, so it can listen and speak at the same time, giving replies a more natural cadence and fewer of the robotic pauses common in voice assistants. Dealing with returns, po box, lost parcels, packing and posting, answering DMs on various platforms
