Trump was asked about the Vivek ad today and kept just repeating the message of the ad and was rude to the female reporter who tried to get him to address the necessary context of the fuckery.

He's smarter than people give him credit for. He knows the attention game so well. Not only how to get it, but how people are busy and will often only get part of a story. He knows ads reach people while achieving the understanding needed to do good civics takes time and effort that people often lack.

There is still a difference between “we don’t plan to stop selling arms to a genocidal country” and “we’re so on board with genocide that this country commits, we’ll do everything in our power to help them, also here’s the generated video of my golden statue on top of the corpses we want to see, and I can’t stress this enough how much I want those corpses”.

TBF Brazil is only richer than Portugal in terms of GDP, because it has like 15 times the population. Portugal still has twice the GDP (PPP) per capita of Brazil. Of course, in terms of politically power, Brazil dwarfs Portugal, which is probably more important for this particular issue.
