I have a hot new conspiracy theory.
Anthropic has been pushing the “Claude has feelings, might be conscious, stop being mean to Claude pliz” bullshit because they’re trying to force a situation they can declare “no, we can’t, see, he has feelings” against future regulatory demands to shut it down.
Trust On "4" Use
listen, if:
- sam altman can say that he "will build a super smart AI and then ask it about how to make a return for investors"
- linus torvalds can use genAI to write a script bc apparently python is too hard for him
- and emudhra can use the number 4 as private key
then you can, in fact, achieve your dreams. you are forbidden from having imposter syndrome as of today.
KDE Plasma 6.7 review: still the best Linux Desktop IMO
I couldn't post my monthly update on the Facebook page because apparently, now I can post only 2 external links per month...
Monetizing external links, what a shame, Meta.
@davidrevoy I guess Zuckerberg needs more money. Veey sad when he hurts small businesses
Ubuntu 26.10: small upgrade, but some interesting things!
I've decided to never cut my hair, EVER AGAIN - if that makes me a sissy-- THEN WHAT ABOUT THE VIKINGS?? Would you call a viking a SISSY??
@Twisted666
Yep. I haven't cut my hair in years (many years). Y'see, it's falling out fast enough on its own. I figure, why encourage it? Or as I often explain it to people; once upon a time my hair was quite curly. But over the years it relaxed more and more. Now it's just waving bye-bye.
I have no idea what I'm doing, but you should definitely follow @MOULE

What I would really, really love for #Ghost: the ability to embed my #ActivityPub posts / replies / reblogs into a sidebar within a Ghost theme.
I don't anticipate this being officially supported anytime soon, but it might be possible to do client-side rendering in JavaScript as a workaround?

I'm not feeling celebratory today. I was asked to write something about the referendum and I said no because I'm feeling terrible about the other nine questions.
I don't trust myself to publish when I'm feeling this low.
I think Ximena addresses it accurately in her post. Well worth reading.

Alright. Idris question. Do you just have like… a for loop. Hiding in this language somewhere. Yes I know how to do a loop with recursion. But you've already *got* monads/"do" and sometimes it's just true that the most semantically efficient way to communicate something is "for i in 1 to 8" or whatever. You seem to have range() . I think so anyway. I've thought I found things in the stdlib before and been wrong. https://idris2docs.sinyax.net/data/papers/docs/Data.Enumerate.html#Data.Enumerate.Enumerator
You didn't document "if" so maye you didn't document "for"
If this were scheme or ocaml I'm pretty sure I could do what i'm doing with zip or other pointfree combinators but unfortunately Idris's most Haskell-like quality is the documentation believes that giving the type of a function is sufficient for a reader to understand what it is the arguments do

@mpjgregoire the problem isn’t the term itself, but that it is been weaponized by the far right and that when you use it to draw a line between you and some other group, you invite far right people.
