The wait is over! EFF’s Privacy Badger is now available on Safari for macOS. When you use Privacy Badger, you join a movement of millions taking a stand against online tracking. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2026/10/announcing-privacy-badger-safari-macos
To everyone reading replies, this is a great step forward for privacy, especially for Apple users. But the truth is that if you don't have to use Safari, then you should use a stronger and better browser like Brave or Librewolf.
If your goal is strong internet privacy rather than mediocre privacy, then it's just silly to add privacy extensions to a browser that will still track you in some way from the browser binary itself (Safari is better than Chrome, but it still tracks the user in some ways). To really protect yourself online, do not use Safari, use Brave or Librewolf with the Privacy Badger extension installed respectively. These privacy-first browsers are simply better, because the binary does not track the user at all.
Linux Fanboy takes another look at macOS: not that bad nowadays
ONNX provides the bridge btw Virtuoso and local embedding models. By default, local embeddings are IBM’s granite-embedding-30m-english model based. Users can also use alternative models.
Embeddings from OpenAI, OpenAI-compatible APIs, etc. r also options for vector generation.
Showcasing the impact of vector similarity search on a DBpedia instance where embeddings have been generated and indexed on literal objects in a DBpedia knowledge graph.

What if this #emudhra apocalypse isn't just a failure of a single CA, but rather a bug in common HSMs?
The CA says all their keys are generated within an HSM: WHICH ONE??
I _must_ know the manufacturer, model and software version!
Edit: It is Utimaco Se-Series Gen2
@fluepke At least each of those single bytes is FIPS certified. 📜🧐
I'll happily read the post-mortem.

eDP display up on Quasar/CQ8750S in MNT Reform/Station! funny how firefox is totally usable even without GPU accleration (llvmpipe software rendering). GPU comes next, gonna need to pull in some kernel patches.

That’s not true, you know the data hasn’t been tampered with because of HTTP signatures. The fediverse isn’t just “yolo, just trust me bro”. There are some parts that are a bit more towards that side (particularly with groups on Lemmy) but I don’t think this should be.

The same way you know the rest of the data hasn’t been tampered with - you don’t. And when you find untrustworthy instances, you defederate from them.

That second solution is what I thought of as doing as I read this. It doesn’t rely on a third party service being up. And that instance has to do that work anyway. So why not just share the results with others?
