I have my blog address (which goes to my home server) in my Mastodon profile, and every time I post on Masto, my server gets a request from every Mastodon site that federates with my instance - i.e. hundreds of requests. It’s no problem for my server, because my blog is a static site, but for anything that dynamically generates every single page impression (like worpress or joomla), it could be a problem. Caching settings might help, I suppose.
Truth is, though, I get far more traffic from vulnerability scanners and AI crawlers that don’t honour robots.txt (or aren’t yet listed).

The show is very dark, very grim and no pop sing alongs in this production.
It's the most concentrated blast of my sonic resistence aimed at the hate of this world in a long time. I am quite pleased with the layers of ultra low tech visuals and production. It will look to you the viewer like the pic in the above post, not clear and bright like this, but here is a little behind the music of my micro black box theatre setup.
Hope you might embrace the horror and do some beauty in the darkness with me.
One possible camera failure to deal with, otherwise we are systems nominal for the dystopian oontz and noise your neighbours are gonna love.

"I keep coming back to this graph because it’s so eye-popping, almost impossible to believe. As you see in the legend, the blue line is data centers. The grey line is everything else. Everything else. Commercial properties. Rental properties. Single family homes. Multiple family homes. Pick your preferred flavor of development, NIMBY, YIMBY, urban, rural, it’s in there. You basically have rapid data center growth and everything else contracting."
@jalefkowit I've been thinking we were in an undeclared recession, but maybe it's actually a depression

Similar, except those are caused by users visiting a link, whereas the Fediverse issue is federated servers gathering info before users even see a link.

It is, but that’s what defederation is for: If there are instances that are being sketchy, they are supposed to get cut off from the rest of the Fediverse.

..if we do get to move to Italy maybe at some point I could setup the infrastructure needed for our servers there powered by solar ☀️
Ofc this requires a lot of prep but it's not an impossible idea💡
We're also looking into trying to go homestead ish a bit perhaps! Ofc with a 'modern touch', I do need you guys
@stux I'm still waiting for your answer about where this land is located 😏 northern, central, southern or insular Italy?
