I've been happy with nylon pack cloth, which is available in various weights. You don't have to use the thin cheap stuff that the commercial packs are made out of

I can't imagine using cotton canvas, but I live in a wet climate! If you want to though, look in the paint department. They have cotton canvas tarps, a large piece of fabric for cheap. It's undyed, but I know you can dye things 😊

Or you could use some of your fancy denim, if you have some without stretch!

I love the photo they used to illustrate the Wikipedia article on incompetence

Washed the selvedge denim jeans I sewed (I know, I know, heresy for the collectors... but I don't exactly have a blue jeans freezer available, lol), before sewing another pair. Cold water, line drying. Definitely some vertical/length shrink still (and bled more indigo). Also some shrink in width, so it is good I built the original loose. Still loose fit. Had to iron the selvedge edge as it had curled (did it while still a little damp). Drying the rest of the way now again on the line. #sewing

Eh cancelled, I/O error in the disks with my copy of Morrowind on my NAS and I'm chilling in bed.
(Hopefully the disks are fine, at least no critical data in them)
