If people are asking, it’s worth the 12 seconds it takes to post a link to a BW instance. They should just make sure it’s to a general instance, and not to a server selection page.

Goodreads removed RSS and some people are asking for alternatives on Reddit; maybe worth pointing to BookWyrm and NeoDB?
Goodreads removed RSS and some people are asking for... #fediverse #goodreads #bookwyrm #neodb #rssfeeds
Both fediverse softwares that support user reviews for books, both have RSS support natively (no Piefed/Misskey bridge needed), and some comments also seem discontent with Amazon's mismanagement overall.

comment violates rule: Stay on-topic to the Goodreads app/website - Book recommendations, discussion about Goodreads alternatives or proposed improvements to Goodreads, surveys/school projects, and general discussion of reading as a hobby are all considered off-topic.
I don’t think the mods there are going to let you.

If the word "peace" were an image, it would be these three on a journey.
A new LLM-powered scam: research an author, research a publication they write for, research the title of something they've written, register a similar gmail address, go phishing.
@pluralistic I would have fallen for the scam because I just don't think of these bad to do things
Hi @sonjalemke
wer #Vertrauen erpresst, zeigt, daß er's nicht erwerben kann. Da ist Mißtrauen ein Gebot der #Vernunft.
@mro
Danke, diese Erkenntnis ist sehr gut. Die leihe ich mir mal aus.

@Auster@thebrainbin.org Bookwyrm and NeoDB are both awesome alternatives to GoodReads, with NeoDB offering far more than just books.
The only downside is that Kindle directly integrates with GoodReads, I'm not sure there's been any independent efforts to integrate alternatives into e-readers.
@gabboman is this question serious lmfao
@2ko@gotosocial.art
Probably a joke. Haven’t been getting weird stuff lately

@natesiggard LOL I once used that technique for a $10K competition to find a camera from Wyze... but did it manually. (roughly geolocated the camera to Washington State, then listened to the airplanes to try to determine where it was... located the thing to within a quarter mile, but a couple of locals managed to find it well before I would have had time to fly out there myself).
@ai6yr first heard of this technique from you, and knew you'd appreciate it!
@HumToTable @ai6yr I read the books, but I didn't need history to teach me the universe is trying to kill me.
My step-dad's brother was on sticks because he caught polio. He taught me rev matching when shifting because he never used a clutch if he could avoid it - not enough feet.
My aunt was deaf because she caught scarlet fever.

Grrrr.
Are there any PCIe gen 4 switch ASICs that are a) purchasable in single units from a distributor like digikey and b) I can get a datasheet for without an NDA?
All I'm finding is ultra locked up Microchip/Switchtek and Broadcom parts.
As is often the case, the take that is steering me in the right direction after feeling sad about all this is coming from @mcc
There is such a thing as too many nitrogens (per molecule, at least). Here’s one example, which is, as is so often the case, one of the Things Derek Lowe Won’t Work With: https://www.science.org/content/blog-post/things-i-won-t-work-azidoazide-azides-more-or-less

@metaning This conflicts with my more important policy of "never use an app for something that is just a fuckin' web page".
@jwz Personally, I prefer "never send a webpage to do an Application's job", but historically Mac apps were always better than browser content. These days, often not so much.
Idag är det 14 år sedan jag träffade tjejen som senare blev min fru. Vi har en son som just fyllt 13.
I somras firade vi 12-årig bröllopsdag.
@cisene Bra att ta det viktigaste först ;)
