@lightweight Turns out, all the evil mad scientists are *social* scientists.
@harmoniousanger certainly most of those whose names live in infamy... although at least couple chemists leap to mind: Thomas Midgley Jr. (invented leaded petrol) and Wilhelm Lommel and Wilhelm Steinkopf (who invented volume production of mustard gas). There're many others deserving of infamy.

Monsoon, as it will look in The Last Tea House.
We’re reworking every season in the game. This one has grey light, rain on the lake, hydrangeas on the sill and paper lanterns glowing through it all.
What does monsoon feel like where you live?

I'm reading about a Word "clone", apparently made by the same people who recreated "clones" of Adobe's software suite.
I don't know how legal any of this is, and I'm not going to get into that. But I can't help smiling at the reactions.
When they started pushing AI, they told us we would lose our jobs, whether we liked it or not. That AI would replace us, whether we liked it or not.
Now that someone has decided to apply the very same principle to their products, suddenly they don't like it anymore.
"You can create new games, but you can't recreate existing ones."
Hurts, doesn't it?
And that's the point. The problem isn't the technology itself, but the way certain sharks use it at other people's expense. When they're the ones on the receiving end, and only then, ethics suddenly becomes a concern again.
@stefano, AI and robotics will not clone only Word but also the majority of workers. So we had to change our economic model, because there will be no many jobs left in the future. This will be mandatory.
From a technological point of view I'm very optimistic: automation, green energy, durable goods, etc...
From a social point of view, I have many more concerns because power corrupts, and as you noted, our ethic is far from optimal :-/

For those thinking about migrating from #Proton to any other mail provider - that is how I did it👇
1. The export tool Proton offers (Proton Mail Export Tool) works. It lets you select your mailbox (one or multiple) and exports the files to a folder on your disk as EML, JSON including attachments. You do not loose anything.
2. Importing mails using Thunderbird works flawless. Connect your new account and either do:
2.1 Copy your exported mails from your disk into the "Local Folders" of Thunderbird and then use "Copy To" which syncs mails to the new providers mail server. The better option.
2.2 Just drag 'n drop the files from your disk into the inbox of your new account in Thunderbird. The good option.
2.3 There is also a Thunderbird Extension (ImportExportTools NG) that can import folders. I never used it. Just to mention it here.
For me the second one (2.2) worked without any issues. I got all mails, attachments, correct threats - no issues.

> ep0: 3c509 in test mode. Erase pencil mark! This means that someone has scribbled with pencil in the test area on the card. Erase the pencil mark and reboot. (This is not a joke.)

Little detail: the beetle's wing pattern is repeated as an engraving on the dark cover paper.
