@outstar Memory tagging will likely be supported on the Pixel 11 series with the launch of Android 17 QPR2. We'll likely be able to support it after that ships but we can't give a timeline on how long it will take. We have a lot of work ongoing.
Google doesn't use memory tagging in the stock OS by default. They use it for a few processes and apps explicitly opting into it when Android Advanced Protection Mode is enabled. They don't use it for the kernel. GrapheneOS uses it for the whole OS.
@outstar GrapheneOS also has a much better memory tagging implementation in userspace, and it has a lot of other important hardening features. There's a massive gap between the security of the stock OS and GrapheneOS. There are drastically better exploit protections in GrapheneOS along with drastically better patching of vulnerabilities. It's growing substantially larger as we add more protections. Our security preview releases and our port to Linux 6.18 are more reasons for a widening gap.
I am not ready to Monday. But if I Monday as early as I can, I'll get further before anyone else's Monday can happen to mine.
I love Star Trek, but when watching Generations the other night I thought, how the hell does Star Fleet function of the crew of the Enterprise was essentially static for 9 seasons? None of the key officers were promoted or moved to new billets where they would grow and develop and eventually become captains or some such.
How is this a system for developing your officers?
It's not like they were out of contact or never in port, they just never promoted anyone.
@andy
Over the 7 seasons of TNG (Generations holds no space in my brain) LaForge was promoted twice, Worf and Troi once, and Dr. Crusher was "promoted" to head of Starfleet Medical but returned to the Enterprise. I imagine that the crew felt they were making the biggest impact on the Starfleet flagship, so they didn't seek to leave for other posts.
Same as in real life, lots of people with jobs they like and good leadership don't jump ship (pun intended), while the opposite is also true.
don't do it this makes mustard gas!
Photography used to be a lot about knowing how to work with chemicals. Nowadays it’s more about finding something interesting and capturing it in a good way.
Maybe the idea itself will become the currency of future software, rather than the craft of building it.
@MoritzGlantz interesting. over the weekend i kinda got to the same result. which lead me to think about how well my ui design skills are.
@GrapheneOS stuff like these are great to hear dudes! By the way, any news about the memory tagging with the 11? Will there be some good news? And by the way, that memory tagging thing, does Google implement it the same way on their phones as you guys do? Meaning our pixels safe in that sense with Android on it compared to graphene OS?

"meat proxy"? is that some new leftoid fetish thing?
@ben is it the whole game or just the patch?
@PetraOleum no idea and I'm not scrolling through 13 hours of game uploads to try to find it again
but I'm pretty sure Nintendo wouldn't care about that distinction
Let's see if #getfedihired works:
I'm a SW engineer, I'm very proficient with C++ (25yrs, I'm one of the coauthors of the static reflection feature), Python 20y, Bash 20y, I have quite a lot devops and some webdev experience. I have done team/tech leading and I have also taught at a university for 12 years (OS/Shell, SQL DBs, meta-programming, Linux kernel programming, etc.)
I'm looking for a new IT job, with the above in mind, preferably remote (in GMT+1)
Boosts appreciated

@sinituulia had to go with coins, tickets and stamps in the end. because I think I'd like to be associated with travel, and the small scale human aspects of being in a new place or being a wanderer or bringing stories back.
@sinituulia ironically I haven't tended to collect mementos when I travel

@GrapheneOS are you planning on redesigning the stock keyboard?
@mosaic5624 It's going to be replaced.
@sinituulia It's so hard to pick 💙 I think I'd answer to all of these.
