Here's what we provide via our Nextcloud TROM Files as trade-free (purest form of free, no ads, no trackers, no AI no BS):

- 10GB of storage space and we can extend it up to 20GB for whoever needs more
- A fully featured document editing, perhaps even better than Google Docs
- A Photo managing app, with tags, auto sorting, photo editor, etc.
- Calendar and Contacts app
- Deck - Kaban-style To-Do app
- A Password manager, KeePassNC
- A Notes app
- A Music app and a Maps app

They are all interconnected and functional. All of your profile is encrypted. There is no catch other than providing these tools for free to people, since we too at TROM use them.

So, enjoy and share!

And if you can support us do so here and see what else we provide - tromsite.com/donate/

Because we provide a lot more than this!

@AugierLe42e très intéressant 👍

Par contre, réduire Rarelust à « un site de fesse », c’est très réducteur, on y trouve plein de films complètement en dehors de cette catégorie, mais juste rares sur d’autres supports. 🤷‍♂️

@tbr Indeed - hence also putting up with zigbee. I usually use WiFi and MQTT, but have had to now install a zigbee2MQTT thing.

Hi,

After getting forum.retrolemmy.com running with lemmyBB, I wondered if Retrofed could get something similar. Instead of getting lemmyBB (an ancient software for lemmy) to work through a proxy, we created a new frontend made natively for PieFed: PieBB. PieBB is more feature complete than lemmyBB and lighter on the server.

Note: This project was created with the help of an LLM.

It’s live at forum.retrofed.com, and makes PieFed look and work like an old phpBB2 forum. You log in with your normal Retrofed account. Posting, voting, polls, PMs, notifications and moderation all work, and you can even import (some) old phpBB2 themes.

If you notice any bugs, you can message me, or reply here.

If you want to use it yourself, it’s at Github. Tested on PieFed 1.8.x.

Known limitations:

• Register sends you to Retrofed’s own sign-up page.
• The index (Last Post, counts) can be a few minutes behind, to keep API calls down.
• Votes made on Retrofed itself can take up to 10 minutes to show in PieBB, due to a cache in PieFed.

This represents so many hot meals😊

More "boring" service providers who are content with a modest profit margin and slow organic growth, please. I don't even care if the UI looks "dated" and new features take a long time to be built. Traditional boring bare metal, only add new customers when you have capacity to support it, whatever.

A company of 50+ year old tech veterans who have been laid off and left behind from age discrimination just looking to keep the bills paid until retirement.

Run it like a co-op, like a little credit union that isn't looking to expand quickly, just serve their little niche of the community.

a communal toothbrush would achieve a much higher utilization rate than a personal toothbrush, and im sure sam altman would be glad to put his up for by the minute rental to optimize bristle per capita availability. and if he doesn't like that idea, im not sure why. from a global allocation perspective, actually it's quite terrible to have everybody, like, have a bunch of the world's limited supply of bristles sitting in their own bathroom

@lamer_yuto バス？

Well, apart from some minor tweaks, this bad boy is done I reckon.
