I'm a director of a wood stove company. I know my product harms my customers and their neighbours but the work is undemanding, pays well and affords me plenty of time with family. They'll be banned soon so there's no point resigning or moving to a more ethical industry now.

When you need to multiply 7*8 do you simply have it memorized, or do you need to add, subtract or otherwise connect it to another math fact that you know better?

That is do you simply think "56" or are there more thoughts that lead to 56?

@futurebird 7x8 was the only one under 11 that didn't just seem self-evident to 3rd-grade me, so I had to memorize it. It still doesn't have an image or feel for me the way the rest of the 0-10 times tables do...

Is anyone in or near Berlin looking for a rigged Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K with cage, D-TAP battery, and SSD?

@lexoyo on that subject - At #OMN, we're working to compost the #techdebt problem using federation and the #4opens. Build apps around shared data flows, not locked-in codebases, and the data stays useful across different projects.

The code becomes a golden ladle in a #witchescauldron: a utensil for shaping and serving the shared data, not a container that owns it. New codebase? Let the flows move across. Less tech debt, less churn, more reuse. #KISS #FOSS #OpenWeb

I think the whole PHP vulnerability is a reminder that we could be spending money on improving digital infrastructure instead of throwing it into a burning pit if “AI.”

You can even really do AI work without that infrastructure.
