Because eMudhra is in the news, I am sharing a screenshot of a footer of an email I once received from them in reply to my query about my PAN card (a government-issued tax identity and card). #eMudhra
Is it ironic that your Windoze PC gets infected while trying to download a file that allows you to write an installable Linux ISO? I think very much so and I'm still LOLing about it.
@briankrebs you know you can run software in a vm and let it access specific devices while running? I trust very few software packages...

Same tbf. 5$ for 300 searches is so limited. I just checked my DDG history for the month and I average between 2500 and 3500 searches a month. I don’t even use it professionally, its just general consumer use.
Honestly I likely would pay for it if it was 5$ for 3k-4k searches. I would just swap to another engine for the remainder but, 1$/1k searches up to 10$ which moves to unlimited would be more than fine, even if they decided to remove the bloat like lens, and translation from the package. but they are likely hoping more people are not like me and will just pay the 10$ a month to have unlimited rather than just not use the service at all.
Especially considering how many other services that I get way more value of are not much more than the unlimited plan… I can have internet browsing for 10$ which i already have for free, or I can pay a couple $'s more and get a streaming service or a news site which contains content that I don’t already have access to.
I like the mentality but, it’s just not worth it for me for a non-essential service that adds nothing of value to me outside one less site harvesting my data.
Funnily I feel just the other way around ^^
Like, it’s only 10$ for something as fundamental as a search engine. It gives me way better results than any other engine I tried, and so far they kept their promise of making it better for me and not for some advertiser or data collector.
And then a streaming service wants more than that, is not as important in my daily life and chances are that the one thing I’d like to watch right now is on another service anyway.
Although I have to say, that recently I find the results not so good anymore. But I suspect that’s more to do with LLMs, because people just don’t communicate their troubleshooting anymore. So if I search “how do I get xy to work”, there’s just no quality content about it anymore, as people ask their LLM.
@corbden I thought in older movies they were cringy effects

The funniest one for me as an Australian was Kevin Rudd, former PM. From everything there, it seems Epstein wanted to gain influence by donating to an NGO run by Rudd, and kept inviting him to stuff, and Rudd kept declining. Eventually he made an unsolicited donation and it got handed back.
going to bury the youtube embeds under the peertube embeds from now on because the utubes always just go "sign in to prove ur no bot"
No one's ever going to look at me quite like this furry little boy does. ❤️🐾
I mean, just LOOK at that sweet little face. How could anyone deny the love of such a wonderful little creature?
My friend David used to call him Pinche Turd because, well, he's the color of a turd, and this dog has absolutely NO concept of personal space. 😂
When he wants affection, NOTHING else matters. It doesn't matter what you're doing, how inconvenient the timing is, or whether there's even room for him.
PET ME. PET ME NOW. THAT IS THE PRIORITY. 😂
I'm convinced this dog would literally crawl inside my body and live there if he could. And even as close as he is to me in these pictures, I promise you, it's STILL not close enough for him. He just wants to be closer. Always closer.
I've had him for a few years now. Another nurse couldn't keep him because she was living in an apartment, and taking this little guy home was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Somehow, this demanding little worm wormed his way right into my heart.
And sometimes I look at him and think about how blessed I am. I get to be here for his entire life. I get to love him, protect him, keep him safe, and be his person. He doesn't know how much he means to me. He just knows he wants to be wherever I am.
He's my soul dog. There's no other word for it.
What a privilege it is to be loved by something so little, so fiercely. ❤️🐾

Thank you for your service, and thanks for the update. Would an IP KVM help here? Know some of them can cycle power remotely, and they’re getting a lot cheaper
I bought a chinese PiKVM copy last time it happened, but ran into issues with the usb otg connection which I procastrinated on to fix, so it currently only shares the screen but not the input. But I also connected it to the main router which is supposed to run the ssh tunnel and reverse-proxy eventually but right now those run on a seperare server and that one went down 🫠
So yeah, I am victim of my own half finished stuff as well as security hardening that now locked myself out pretty much…
@lydiaconwell frankly, portable solar chargers would make much more sense! Or maybe combined solar-mechanical power pack (since it sometimes isn't sunny in Britain).
@patrickhadfield You can get clockwork ones. I've seen them online.
I haven't seen a dual solar clockwork one though.
Europe doesn’t wait for the future. We build it. In America!
@EUCommission @AinsleyLowbeer if only they made it easy for researchers like myself to move there with our families...
My fluffy kids, a throwback.

I've been made aware of a post from someone representing Rufus who says I'm very confused about this post. I've reported that Windows Defender went bananas after I installed Rufus on a Windows 11 device. It immediately popped up warnings about hacktools and trojans being installed while it was installing. I wish I had a record of it but I nuked everything after the alerts.
@briankrebs i'm sorry someone actually posted that on github issues?? Oy vey..
I was line-by-line fixing a sqlite database. Needing to edit, close, check, read log, fix. Did this about 50 times today. Did .q instead of \q once.
