@clacke I knew wasabi was different--from the time I thought a bowl of it was guacamole and ate a bunch at once. It's a different experience of spiciness; you feel it in your sinuses, and it passes quickly.
Come to think of it, I've had an accidental experience with Szechuan petters, too, eating Chinese food on a date in the dark at a drive-in movie. They were just in there to contribute flavor, not really to be directly eaten. That stuff just keeps burning, waaaay longer than chili peppers.
@14mission @clacke Real wasabi isn’t really spicy at all. It’s so mild you can put it on ice cream or in sake as a condiment.
Most “wasabi” sold in tubes is just green colored horseradish. Even the “wasabi” they serve at Nobu’s is not authentic.

@gramps Certainly, but their voters don't just go away like that.
They skip an election because they are grumpy their latest shithead hasn't showered them in treasures and hurt everyone they don't like enough, but they are going to be back for the next one who promises the same all over again.
@yora Oh yeah. Those people never go away but perhaps it would at least take it down a few notches. Each successive round gets worse and worse it seems: Reagan to Bush Sr. to Bush Jr. to Trump. Following that chain... what is next on their plate?

I've talked before abt how I don't rly care about gender or whatev, I'm rly apathetic about it, also that I'm a tomboy, etc., and sometimes I've had people float to me that I could be non binary, but nobody ever suggests being a man to me. I think this is because nobody wants more men hfghjkl

Best whitefish I've had is cooked by my husband's uncle, a retired fisherman in Marquette on Lake Superior. He puts filets on foil, dots the top with butter, sprinkles it with Lawry's Season Salt, and cooks it on the grill, still on top of the foil. It ends up cooking in its own juices and basted with butter, hint of grill flavor.
