I was mostly offline today and almost missed #DefaidodonDay! My timeline is like a giant flock of sheep. A good time to post a photo of Babydoll sheep - yes that is really the name of the breed - on Samsø last spring. I've just been swatching for a sweater that includes some yarn that I bought at the farm/camping and is made of their fleeces. #Samsø #Defaidodon
I think the "function" I serve in practice within social media communities is to write brief angry rants about Javascript or Git or Elissa Slotkin or something before going to bed and then wake up and discover I have 130 boosts. But the only thing I actually enjoy doing here is making those electronic music recommendation posts
@mcc those are the posts of yours I always skip, since they have no overlap with my musical interests. Oh well.

@lumiworx Motorola just announced official support for GrapheneOS on the Signature 27. The post says they'll be making further announcements with more details. That will include how to get a device with it.
GrapheneOS on the Signature 27 and future Motorola devices will be built and signed by the GrapheneOS Foundation. It will be the same software available for Pixels with different firmware, drivers and other hardware support code. Unlike Pixels, we don't need to do reverse engineering.
Israel's president has tapped opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot to start forming a government — a major setback for Benjamin Netanyahu, who is currently in his sixth term as prime minister. Here's @AssociatedPress

@woozle @impermanen_ Yes. I am extremely naive and have no experience of social network except in here. I thought I will succeed in convincing people to have an inter-servor protection system. But after months of talking here and there I must admit it is impossible. It is a shame because the Fediverse has a lot of potential. Please tell me when you will start welcoming people from Sudan or Myanmar, I will come back.
There already is some cooperation between moderators on different servers, but mastodon.social has never been much involved in that as far as I know. They are also closely tied to the team that develops the software, which has historically been resistant to (or at least avoidant of) suggestions towards fixing these problems.
What other servers did you try previously? I'd be interested in hearing more about your experiences, and specifically any details about what went wrong.
They destroyed our homes, displaced us, and drowned us in blood while the world remained silent. Today, our tents are drowning in rainwater, and the world is still silent! 💔

@Sayah_123gaza i'm devastated to see the destruction the rain has brought to gaza. :(
Sandra has just spotted The Mouse in the kitchen.
I thought that it had moved on.
Traps (humane) are out.
Let's see if I am successful with my mouse catching tonight...
@neil My experience of catching rodents in the house is that it involves quite a lot of screaming on the part of all involved.
Plus patience, a blanket that you can throw over it, and a long stick to wiggle behind radiators and under cupboards.
@giflian Hopefully not!
@ai6yr that and/or monthly hormone shifts sometimes make me feel like I'm getting a cold when I'm not (and I know you weren't brainstorming, I'm being silly)
@ai6yr
Johnny Carson used to have Rich on pretty regularly, and that's how I know of him. Considered the best jazz drummer.
@USelaine The LP is outstanding, for sure, a keeper.
its been like 2 weeks since my last stream, but im gonna surprise people by going live at a completely abnormal time sometime in the next 5-30 minutes probably
A bit of a ghetto soldering setup, but it sorta works. The oven is unfortunately unable to follow the proper temperature curves for lead-free solder.

I used Claude to make a customised app for viewing my porn collection. I told him it was for viewing galleries of photos of sporting events. He played along but I can tell by his obsequious demeanour that he knows what I'm doing and he judges me.
