In this episode Lieutenant Tyler accidentally gets really high on mycelium spores although could have solved everything if the transporter had just worked.

no one should hook up a USB to ethernet adapter to anything I've ever worked on and trying logging into root with a long-ass password.
@majorlinux this just sounds like "imagine what we could do if workers controlled the mind poison factory that hurts workers"
@gildilinie That is exactly what that sounds like…at the beginning.
But take that further.
But I understand if that’s not what you want to do.
I’m not going to force it like they force this tech down everyone’s throats.
Not everyone can imagine a better more just world.
git worktree is such a nice feature
but it doesn't checkout the submodules and running submodules update --init manually makes them to be fetched from the network, so what's the point even

Fedigest, a hand-picked front page for Lemmy, PieFed and Mbin
Made a thing. Fedigest is a self-hosted site where you pick posts from anywhere in the threadiverse, write a few lines about why they’re worth reading, and publish them as one front page.
Comments are pulled live from the original thread. Want to vote or reply? Enter your home instance once, it gets saved in your browser, and from then on every post takes you straight to the same post on your own instance. It can also follow communities and add new posts automatically.
Comes with 15 themes (light/dark pairs follow your device, and there’s a terminal one with an old PC font), and you can make your own with a live preview.
Runs as one Docker container, SQLite inside. Still early, version 0.1.3. Built with help from an LLM.

Feedback welcome.

I have a friend who's trying to start her own "I can do a wide set of things for your small business" type of business. She's having a hard time framing this on a website.
Do you have examples of such websites I could send her? Basically, I'm looking for sole proprietors who are selling their creative and/or tech services. Aka people who could call themselves freelancers but choose not to.
I feel like I see these all the time, but I'm having a hard time thinking of any atm. Help!
Sounds very useful. Not unlike things a business incubator does.
I do think the desirable range of services would probably depend on the type of business.
A "creative agency" would make sense for artists and writers and the like.
And there's always "marketing consultant", but I always kind of distrust that label. I feel like, if I'm bad at marketing, I'm going to be a sucker for people who are good at it to fool me into a bad deal. Maybe this is paranoid of me.
But complicated services are always about TRUST. If you don't really fully understand what they are selling you, you feel like you can't judge the quality, so you're really judging how honest you think they are.
IDK if this helps or not. 🤷♂️

@artnacrea @joncounts I hear from folks working with petrol line trimmers on river boundaries and spraying herbicides around tree bases in our Ōtautahi parks that they're doing so as a result of 'people complaining that the parks look scrappy'. Of course those practices are a) carbon intensive, b) polluting, and c) destroying important habitat... Makes me want to run campaigns to rewild many of our public spaces and stand up to those shallow prissy colonialists wanting everything manicured.
@artnacrea @joncounts by 'polluting', I mean noise and unpleasant chemicals (that, for instance, kill native fauna), not just Carbon...

There’s a small lode of tungsten and tin under the forests on the slopes of [Tasmania's] Takayna’s Mt Lindsay, and the American and allied military-industrial complexes would like to get it.

I have an elderly neighbour whose name is either Maureen or Margaret, I can never remember. I call her Maurgreet and she hasn't noticed yet. We've been neighbours for 10 years.
