Here’s the link to the Leaders from Law website, the mission statement page, https://www.leadersfromlaw.com/our-mission. TL;DR = we can’t sustain progressivism or U.S. Constitutional Democracy without progressive young lawyers retaining their interest in holding office. LFL gives them tools and guidance on how to keep that interest real and prepare to run. 2/

@glyph the "Using their knowledge and curiosity to improve the project in other ways" section in https://harihareswara.net/posts/2017/how-to-teach-and-include-volunteers-who-write-poor-patches/ may be handy

[I'm sorry, I'm less attentive to your own specifications and others' replies than usual, am trying to finish something by a deadline]

I’ve decided to start pronouncing “ADHD“.

I will not be taking questions.

@vax_ It was already patched in the previous OS release. It's explicitly listed in the release notes due to people asking about it unlike most other vulnerabilities which are patched.

We moved to the latest Android 6.18 GKI LTS branch which is 6.18.38. GKI has a lot of backports from later LTS and major kernel releases. We also do our own. The version doesn't mean as much as you think it does. We do plan to catch it up to being based on the latest upstream LTS revision but it's a large task.

a friend elsenet linked this:

and we are pulling two quotes in particular:

What it feels like is a civil war; a conflict where we find ourselves opposing people we used to take seriously or even cared about.

The world is simply worse for these systems existing, no matter how many insane bad-faith conversations about "utility" or "capability" you get roped into. It is exhausting and it is miserable to watch.

I don’t think you quite understand why AI is so bad and why local models are no different. whynoai.info

Hey, if you know of an org that's looking for a smart, resourceful, no-BS, justice-sensitive creative operations specialist (comms + marketing + design + tech), I'm available for remote work. 🇨🇦

Any idea who might replace him?

Is it divisive to ask?

Or helpful to know who we’d be looking at?

Voting For can feel safer for some

But voting Against may be unifying

thinking a lot about the concept of "chair stacking" today, and its power in organizing online communities https://www.jonafato.com/2024/12/20/stacking-chairs

Unfortunately, the interesting parts like group chats are not standardized, so not compatible to other Fediverse platforms.

And I’m generally a bit wary of AI written projects. It’s just hard to contribute and get a community going. And a lot of those kinds of projects show some crazy initial growth. And then they might get abandoned once the developer decides to start a new hobby or stop paying for the necessary tokens. Not sure if this is the case here, though.

It’d be nice to have something like this. Ideally an interoperable version.

Office Kitty is getting rather overheated on my lap, but she is too sleepy and comfy to move herself off completely. She did one heave off my lap but collapsed in another slumber mid-heave.
