**Ceci n'est pas un Mac mini.** 🎨

As Magritte might have said, appearances can be deceiving.

It may look like a Mac mini, but it's actually a Raspberry Pi 4B in a custom case I designed and 3D printed with my Bambu Lab A1 mini.

And, of course, it proudly wears the NetBSD logo.

Who needs a Mac mini when you can have a little NetBSD box of your own? 😄

It's really notable that none of the worst case nightmare scenarios involving ICE at polling stations, arrested election workers, seized ballots, postal shenanigans, etc. came to pass. And that's due to tireless work by legal advocates for states and NGOs, not to mention independent judges who were willing to stand up to the administration's unlawful excesses.

@mattblaze Separately, let’s also credit electoral campaigners running up the score in early voting so that it was an insurmountable blue wave, prominently including #NoKings Early Vote a couple weekends ago, which measurably boosted early voting where there were events, in a huge way in places.

A weekend protest that actually changed things!

Looks like this is more or less all we’ll get for a while and it’s 4am for me, so I’m going to call it a night and check back in in the morning (and send out a quick recap of tonight’s events for my newsletter subscribers: www.citationneeded.news/signup/)

All I can say is: what a wipeout for crypto & AI.

#USpol #USpolitics #midterms

Election results: 54 of 68 general elections with crypto or AI super PAC money have been called. Three bars show the super PAC money in each kind of race, drawn to scale, and split by whether it ended up on the winning side, the losing side, or is still waiting on a call.

Competitive races, the longest bar by far: $92.4 million. Goal achieved in 2 races and failed in 9. $14.2 million was on the winning side, $74 million on the losing side, and $4.2 million is not yet called.

Likely winners: $8.3 million. Goal achieved in 2 races and failed in none. $1.3 million was on the winning side and $6.9 million is not yet called.

Backing the winners: $10.6 million. Goal achieved in 40 races and failed in none. $9.6 million was on the winning side and $976,000 is not yet called. — Election results: 54 of 68 general elections with crypto or AI super PAC money have been called. Three small free Godot 4.x hygiene docks: Todo Tracker, Broken Reference Finder, Unused Resource Finder

I kept hitting the same three cleanup problems on a project that had been through a few art passes and refactors, so I built a dock for each. All free, GDScript only, no dependencies, Godot 4.x.

Todo Tracker — walks every .gd/.cs/.shader/.gdshader file for TODO, FIXME, HACK, BUG, NOTE, plus any custom tag you type in (handy if your team writes REVIEW(name): or PERF:). Per-tag filter checkboxes, double-click a row to jump to the line, re-scans on save, and an “Export Markdown” button for pasting a checklist into a PR.

Broken Reference Finder — checks res:// paths in scenes, resources and scripts against files that no longer exist. The part that actually took the work: Godot scenes carry a uid://… next to the path, and Godot resolves by uid first, silently repairing a stale path on load. A plain text search flags that as broken when it isn’t. This one checks the uid against ResourceUID before reporting anything, and splits results into High/Low confidence.

Unused Resource Finder — same uid-aware logic applied to “is this file referenced anywhere,” plus oversized textures (>2048px on a side), folders where every asset is unused, and asset folders with no LICENSE/CREDITS/ATTRIBUTION file nearby.

All three, with screenshots and the actual store listings, are on one page: kurtisbyrne2026.pythonanywhere.com/godot

Open to feedback, especially from anyone whose project layout trips up the “unused” or “broken” detection — static analysis like this always has edge cases I’d rather know about than guess at.
