HUGE loss for crypto super PACs: $64 million down the drain as Democrat Sherrod Brown wins against John Husted in the Ohio Senate race. This was more than 1/3 of all crypto spending this cycle. $56.5M from flagship crypto PAC Fairshake, $7.5M from Winklevosses’ Digital Freedom Fund.

From my newsletter today (https://www.citationneeded.news/2026-election-guide/):
Loss for conservative, Heritage-linked pro-AI group Alliance for a Better Future as Dem Adam Hamilton wins against Roger Marshall in Kansas Senate race. It was a relatively small outlay: just $81,000 for an ad promoting AI but warning AOC/Bernie will make AI regulations “for their benefit”.
Welp, looks like the Dems won Congress. Holy shit, do they have a mess to deal with. I wish them all the luck!
JUST IN: Democrats have won the US Senate, ending Republican dominance in Washington by harnessing voters’ frustration with Trump

Looks like Bolsanaro picked the wrong week to flee to a Nazi country.
Also why I am a terrible sports fan: I can't muster up enough interest in if one team or another wins, because I have zero impact on who wins, don't have any investment in who wins, and frankly don't really think the billionaire sports owners need any more money, lol.
@ai6yr I used to love sports but the billionaire owners and the lack of regard for the athletes themselves .... meh
The $6.3B Binance hack is wild.
A Binance engineer was looking for a new job.
North Korean hackers created a fake company, contacted him on LinkedIn and conducted two job interviews.
Then they sent him a coding test containing malware.
That helped them breach Binance and steal $6.3B in crypto.

Texas Republicans going from a "haha, people are moving here from California" to a "oh no, people are moving here from California" at breakneck speed.
