I'll break my n/n to add that we need to understand & remember the US would never, ever accept having its public/edu/mil/gov sectors hosted on foreign owned infra, lest of all abroad. Even that of a close ally.
Meanwhile, most of us, in some way, are taxed peasantry in the infrastructural equivalent of the Roman Empire, where the US gets to have its sovereignty and eat it too (at least the corporate Maxim of it), while the rest of the world does not.
This is an abject 'normal'.

We've argued since 2014 that state power is a hot potato. In a globalized world, governments can no longer mitigate the impact of capitalism on ordinary voters—so whoever holds power loses popularity.
It's good to see Trump losing control. But we'll keep see-sawing back and forth between political parties in wilder and wilder oscillations until we make real changes in the system itself.

@strypey @billbennett I play/sing in a (mostly) covers band (22+ years now) because punters like to hear songs they know played well. Gets us gigs. Punters tend to ignore bands only playing originals because they don't know the material. But the logical conclusion is, without originals bands, who makes new music? Our band mixes our originals into our sets. Great responses. Always. Look our for upcoming BandCamp releases.
