A recurring speech I’ve been giving to my team at work is that technical skill is no longer enough. Being able to write code, create PRDs or design in Figma is simply not enough.
What we most need now from people is good judgement. AI agents can do the technical things but they lack judgment.
@carnage4life Indeed. The good judgement to reject the use of AI in literally any human endeavour.
@dskywalk did try it, works like a charm, thanks...

incredible take from one of the GNU maintainers, seriously
@ariadne a terrible answer for a terrible question
Körde precis min mobil i en 40-graders-tvätt…
Men den verkar funka?? Skriver på den nu
@doktorzjivago Bra kvalitet! En bakelittelefon från 50-talet skulle nog också klara en 40-graderstvätt. Bara med frågetecken för centrifugen och hur mycket kläder det var i.
A new California law lets children of family vloggers make their parents take down all footage of them. “A new California law will protect the children of family vloggers once they turn 18. Senate Bill No. 1247 gives adults whose parents, legal guardians, or family members used them in social media content while they were minors the right to demand removal of said content.”
My son is almost 12 and I've suddenly realised his childhood is practically over. It's tough being a parent, but people always said to enjoy it. All the chaos, crying and carrying on - how? Now I realise they meant the tender moments, sweetness and sheer dependency of it all.

I can't think of a better illustration of the fundamentally selfish, libertarian foundation of the free software movement than a GNU maintainer loudly affirming that contributions known to be produced by slave labor are welcome without reservation https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2026-11/msg00128.html

Winter boots.
EVA foam with removable sock (liner). Same as last year, because very good and warm.
They got used a lot so the liner wore through. You can buy it separately but not here. With shipping it cost the same as the whole boots, so now I have a spare pair. Next year I can buy liners in bulk and stock up :)
@yngmar
They'll go nicely with the rest of your New Romantic look.

This seem to stem from a misunderstanding. Lemmy and Mastodon have different goals. Users of each generally don’t want the other’s content generally showing up en masse.
If you want to see something from Mastodon, you can usually get it on Lemmy, and vice versa. I don’t often see Mastodon posts either, but that’s because I only follow Lemmy communities, so I only see them when someone on Mastodon tags a Lemmy community in their post. If you want to see more Mastodon content, see if you can follow some users or hashtags from Lemmy.
But that might not be supported; I haven’t tried. If you prefer Mastodon, I’m pretty sure that you can follow Lemmy communities from there.

@cinnamon @puniko @mitsunee aren't they publicly federated around to the target instance as plain text anyway?
@arti @mitsunee @cinnamon they are plain text, yes, but they are only federated to the users invovled. any other instance won't get it. that doesn't make them private, but it makes them directed. hence "direct" is a good scope name for it
