unngh this track is such a sonic treat. love the sparse intro with sissoko noodling on for a bit & then the balofon comes in and grounds everything and it’s like oh baby, strap in, we are listening to music now https://sissokosegal.bandcamp.com/track/houdesti

4.95-MW #US #agrivoltaic solar farm to offer 10% cheaper electricity

I've got two new awesome desk ornaments: microwave oven capacitors signed by both Styropyro, and Electroboom. I happened to network with the both of them at the inaugural SciCom Summit at the Museum of Science in Boston, and I figured that bringing these capacitors to be signed was funny, and fitting.

Hi from normals.me. If you can read this, the federation works
This post is written on https://normals.me and delivered to !fediverse@lemmy.world over #ActivityPub, so if you are reading it the basic plumbing works. Now let me explain what is this.
Normals is a forum with communities, threads, and questions with an accepted answer. It is a single instance, not software you can host, and the core is closed for anti-abuse reasons. The federation module will be published separately with implementation notes (FEP-67ff).
What federates today Every community is a Group actor following the Lemmy model (FEP-1b12). Follow @selfhosted@normals.me or any other community from Lemmy, PieFed, Mbin or Mastodon.
Posts and comments go both ways. Replies from your instance appear in the thread on Normals, replies from Normals go back to the origin.
Remote content is labelled with its origin, links back to it, and is never copied. Media loads from the source.
Signed fetches, so it works with instances that require authorized fetch. NodeInfo 2.1 is up.
Policies, in case they matter to you, it has no ads, and no paid reach, and of course no AI training on posts. AI crawlers blocked by default, public mod log with reasons, and no automated removals. Numbers at https://normals.me/transparency so please take a look.
If something from your instance shows up wrong here, or something from here shows up wrong on yours, reply with the URL and I'll fix it. Andy Piper mentioned NodeBB uses the same group model, if anyone runs a NodeBB instance I'd like to test against it, if possible.
I hope we all have fun. Cheers!

It's not vibe-coded and the developer published several FEPs to help others implement same features (e.g. FEP-bebd: Follow Invites)
@DoctorDeathray and accordions, yeah.
@ajroach42 I need to go to this shop.
lol my stock portfolio lost a decent car's worth of value today
apparently my investment account manager had not, in fact, been respecting my request to deprioritize AI-dependent tech companies. also turns out there's SpaceX shares too, even though I made it absolutely clear I wanted nothing to do with anything Elon.
Oh well. It's a temporary market correction and I get to feel smug about being a Cassandra once again.
It is so deeply weird to me that shops have Christmas trees in their windows. I used to love Christmas as a kid, but now it just instils a deep sense of gnawing constant fear in me. Every year since around 2015 has been filled with uncertainty. Rolling horrors and financial instability leave me with internal icy cold dread. Will I be able to afford Christmas? Do we reallocate money to Christmas at the risk of other bills? Because that's what it feels like now. Just another bill. A tax. Except for this one you have to pretend to be constantly cheerful for an ever-extending period. Now Christmas cheer apparently chimes as the clocks change. Your two options are either 'way too hot' and permaChrimbo. I can't breathe. Just give me some room to be, without having to constantly be in fight or flight. Anyway, morning! Hooray! Another day. What day? Literally no one knows. I think it might be Thursday? It all blends at this point. Anyway let's all get out there and be our best selves and have a terrific whatever day it is. Day! Day! Day!
@TheBreadmonkey
One of the reasons Xmas / Yule is banned in my house till December.
So sorry you're feeling overwhelmed by fanancial angst / fears

Posting cool #space #facts until the Atlas Rush #Kickstarter:
Well-known to #UFO & #scifi communities, Zeta Reticuli is a binary system of 2 sun-like yellow dwarf stars, both visible with the naked eye. They are extremely far apart, 100x the distance between the Sun & Pluto.
If you like #space, #boardgames, and cooperating with friends to defeat strange aliens...
Atlas Rush is a strategic, #scifi, #space exploration #boardgame launching next Tuesday 11/10 on #Kickstarter!

@mcc Sorry, I was responding to @cwebber, Mastodon always CC's all mentioned user names. I was not expecting you to to respond, but Christine since she raised the point on emacs-devel that I was interested in following up on as it affects the LLM-generated-code in Emacs discussion. If you are not interested in this I will take care to omit your handle in the future.
@pkal Thanks. Please do remove me from future replies in this thread, as I was not participating in it seriously.
@mattblaze Also a good time to remind the whole of the USA that even though we as Europeans are happy for the blue tsunami, we still will not trust you with buying weapon systems from you for the next 50 years.
@UlrikNyman I'll be sure to let everyone know.
@evan EVERYONE KNOWS THAT. I'M OBVIOUSLY TALKING ABOUT ELECTION DAY AND AFTERWARD.
But whatever.
@mattblaze OK, I guess I don't understand your point, then. You're saying that there hasn't been a concerted effort to overturn the election results since Tuesday?
I wonder when he gave up, and why.
It might be a good time to remind Republicans that their party probably wouldn't have collapsed had they allowed Trump to be convicted in his impeachment the January 6 Capitol riot.

this week I really feel the bworf
3200 manifestants à montpellier quand même !
Notifcation on on my phone about a delivery: "Jesus is approaching with your order". Now I wish I had tidied up the house more.
@mattblaze your five loaves and two fish (Matthew 14:13) is only 2 stops away
@pkal It's unclear who you're asking. In the original thread, I specifically said I was "joshing", and therefore you should not expect me to rigorously justify my joke which was labeled as a joke.
If was asked to make a serious argument, my argument would be that LLMs should be eliminated as a technology and any data artifacts, such as software, that were created with them should be deleted. Hope this helps

I ran out of time to get Void Linux working on an old enterprise Thinkpad so now I've just gotta bring my Ubuntu gaming laptop to ETH0 like the poser I am
