The LLMs are creating a new kind of mysticism. At Project Gutenberg, we're starting to get emails they have written trying to contact authors of some of the books we distribute. The authors have been dead for over a hundred years. I'm tempted to answer.
Progress report's draft is done, and I have an hour or two maybe, to squeeze one more thing in, maybe.
Poop. Running into Roto limitations.

oops, once again having one of those "i wasted my life by chasing dreams and having ambitions" moments
Of all the real-world names for chemicals that sound like they were dreamed up by a comic book writer as an ingredient in some superhero’s origin story, “Zoledronic acid” must be near the top of the list.
@gregeganSF I hear you and raise you Hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane!
@manawyrm @neil i thought I'd killed one of my ports for charging, no amount of EC paperclipping would fix it. Happened to plug it into a new charger I was testing, and it's worked ever since. Was stuck in some half-handshaked state for months presumably that the Anker charger finally snapped it out of
Resetting it via the battery has brought it back, but it is still very flaky - the slightest touch to the cable means that it drops the connection. So I suspect that this is hardware relate :(
ICE killed Renée Good. But ICE did not kill Alex Pretti; CBP killed Alex Pretti. ICE did not raid Ilhan Omar's home, HSI did that. And ICE did not raid that Chicago apartment building and put children in zip-ties, that was ICE and CBP and ATF and the FBI. Are we going to abolish the FBI?
(Kolektiva Posters, that's rhetorical, don't answer that)
@glyph There is a "pour encourager les autres" aspect here, though. One way to encourage better behavior among all law-enforcement agencies is to take the most notoriously badly behaving one out back and shoot it
Remember, remember.
The fifth of November.
The Gunpowder treason and plot.
I know of no reason, why the Gunpowder treason should ever be forgot!
Perhaps we should re-introduce a Million Mask March against the becoming surveillance globe..
@ben i always forget that decimals for time never come out clean since it's a basis of 60 so that happens. god dammit. i was thinking about it like, wait shouldn't it be like, every hour is a cycle and then each day is 24 cycles??? but nah of course not lmao
@root this is like running on solar and lunar calendars at the same time but there are two suns

I sent messages to Misskey and Mastodon accounts to test it and found that all the messages sent were actually "Direct" visibility......(So the reply I send to myself should be like this too
)
@umemu Mastodon doesn't support conversation visibility, its implementation of followers-only is not correct and it leaks parts of conversation to unintended audiences. We can't do the same, so unfortunately compatibility with Mastodon in that regard is limited.
Misskey probably copied followers-only implementation from Mastodon

People outside of Finland: you can send me an email and I will try to find a way to get my products to you as well. EU definitely possible (already send some honey barrels to France), other places I need to check separately.
