Good question, however the security model doesn't depend on the code being secret, and it shouldn't. The auth, signatures, permissions and input handling are standard and went through an OWASP review before launch.
What's closed is the anti-abuse layer, spam, rate-limit tuning, the signals for detecting ban evasion and coordinated accounts. Those work partly because spammers don't know the exact numbers. Lemmy's and Mastodon's are public and they get played for exactly that reason. Hope it helps :)
sama and mr claude when you have an ai thread
@didek We're not requiring C2PA credentials or trusting corporations to decide what users can publish.
We're simply reading optional metadata to help identify content declared as AI-generated.
Supporting an open standard isn't the same as endorsing its entire trust ecosystem.

Its strange how hostile people are being. And people are assuming everything is vibecoded at this point.
BREAKING NEWS: $GTN (GTN) poised to manifest capital #BreakingNews
To my US friends. Unless there is accountability and justice and punishment they will think they can do it again next time, and that they just need some better lies and a better liar.
thinking a lot about the concept of "chair stacking" today, and its power in organizing online communities https://www.jonafato.com/2024/12/20/stacking-chairs
It's trifle Thursday! Today we are launching Vivaldi 8.3 on Desktop, iOS and Android, which brings:
🛡️ Rebuilt ad and tracker blocker, with a new UI, new blocking levels and extensive backend refactoring
🔗 Copy sanitized links to remove tracking parameters
Desktop also gets two highly requested updates to vertical tabs:
📊 Expand tab bar on hover
📌 Pinned tabs in grid
...and there's much more in store, including a massive performance boost for our iOS version!
Get it from http://vivaldi.com or you preferred store and let us know what you think!

@Vivaldi
Since you bent over for Google and removed V2 addon support, disabling especially uBlock Origin, I returned to Firefox on Linux and Edge on Windows, which still has V2 and uBlock Origin working.
Now some screenshots
there’s something to be said about public transport becoming more pleasant when the ridership’s average income rises by 5-10x
@aesthr I don't think they're calling their variables 🍑 and 🍆 ?
@drmabuese that would be an improvement tbh
Hi Wafrn critters! I have a new wafrn feature to announce
After more than one month of development (with its ups and down), Native Per-Message Profiles are coming to Wafrn (web only for now, app later)
This is already available for all users on app.wafrn.net and a release for other wafrn servers is coming very soon.
Now you can go to your settings and set up multiple posting profiles for your account, each with its avatar and name and url marker. You can configure as many indicators as you want for each one.
This is a huge effort that was born from my conversation with @j0lol on the wafrn discord two months ago, taking a lot of inspiration from the way sable (the matrix client) labels and designs this.
Also this is meant to integrate with Pluraldawn by @exa (and the original source is cited on the code) as it will be the way to federate this info to other servers.
