@soller that happens here in Maine, too. It's depressing as hell. I think dem candidates on the ballot need to get out the messaging and be building coalitions for down ballot candidates and issues.

No. Next question.

I cook my sunday family scrambled eggs on a really low heat. I tell my wife it makes them fluffier and much more delicious. Its so i have a few minutes more of peace from the kids

Novell Netware file browser is very minimalist. SYS: it says.

I installed the OS on a fresh disk, so the folders are only system components. I have no idea what is it even in there. So exciting.

I was wondering if any of the writers here on the Fedi have tried Hugh Howey's (author of the “Silo“ series) writing app "Neo" and what your thoughts on it are?

So far I like it. It does have a way of encouraging you to continue writing more so than your average text editor.

I'm not going to have every enemy named, just sometimes a spaceship or whatever will appear with the pilot's name displayed. Then, perhaps, when you've obliterated everything and finished the level it could put up some kind of obituary for them, mentioning grieving relatives left behind and pets who will never see their human come home again.

This looks amazing! I haven't tried it yet but I will. This is what I use, for now. https://github.com/stefano-pogliani/AME @Mrfunkedude

Crypto and AI super PACs spent $250 million on the midterms. In competitive races, their candidates got clobbered: nine losses out of 12 called so far, including Ohio, where crypto spent $64 million and still couldn’t beat Sherrod Brown.

Like, did you know this is what they took from us? These titlebars you can almost feel with your fingers... This smell of a cup of Java in the mornings. Dockable windows and bars. Buttons that are obviously buttons (and not "wow might be a href over img element"), that are obviously enabled (or obviously not)

@mattblaze Good job on defending your democracy America (there's still important fixing to do, but it could have been so much worse)

Dagens trafikerfarenheter:

The only way I want Dems to “reach across the aisle” is to hand out subpoenas

Funny story:

Turns out voting actually matters a lot.

@gottalaff.bsky.social @gedeonm @eliothiggins.bsky.social Wait, I thought she resigned to spend more time with her family or whatever. She ran again?

So, Novell Netware 5 is an absolutely cursed operating system. As far as I can tell, it boots Caldera DOS as a stage-0, then goes into NWSERVER kernel that uses its own everything, and from there boots a JAVA shell, and from there there's an init also presumably in Java, that starts binaries for X-for-NW, IceWM-for-NW and, if I were to believe Novell's docs, a Java-based desktop. It definitely looks and feels like Java.

Java OS that I did not know existed

Now we can breathe……
