I’m staying up to make sure Collins loses, but I’m having chocolate lava cake and a drink while I do it.
@fsinn How many slices? How many drinks? How many oz per drink? 🤔
@docpop They relented, but that doesn't mean you're wrong.
@chris Communications schools teach it, I think, as a means of appearing more lively and dynamic. Head movements, too. You may also notice that some have a signature pointing style.
@log it comes off, to me at least, as nearly robotic! Really weird!

Deb Haaland makes history to become the first-ever First Nations governor of a US state. She will be the 108th governor of New Mexico.
Tonight, millions of us will be refreshing our screens, looking for signs. @jaykuo’s guide shows which counties to watch and how to tell a modest blue wave from a solid one, or even a tsunami. Just remember: ignore who’s ahead early, and watch how key counties swing compared to 2024. That’s what will tell you what’s really happening. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/blue-wave-midterm-elections
@georgetakei @jaykuo Long gone are the days when the first results would not be on TV before the West Coast polls had closed. We had 3 million different types of systems, many of them requiring hand counting. The very first time I voted, we still had the one armed bandit that pulled the curtain closed behind you when you pulled the handle down before you punched your punchcard.

It still makes me so angry and sad thinking of all the fear and suffering and death that these monsters caused, and the way they rewarded and congratulated themselves. May they be all taken down along with their cruel, idiotic leader. I won’t shed one tear for any of them.
@Jgbird I would not be unhappy if deranged Trump spends the next two years cannibalizing everyone in his circles. Let them destroy one another. They asked for this.

CNN projects Democrats will win the senate race in Kansas.
This is the first time since 1932.
Read that number.

Rich bad guys still control the algorithms. Celebrate, but lock-in.
The (corporate) Dems are TERRIFIED.
People are going to actually expect them to get shit done, now (or in 2 years). I wonder if they're rehearsing their excuses why they can't do anything.

Congrats to Keisha Lance Bottoms who has become the first-ever black woman elected as governor of a U.S. state.
She is going to be the 84th Governor of Georgia.
I hope Democrats are brainstorming ways to use their new majorities to enact common-sense reforms, such as requiring Elon Musk to pull every single American around Central Park in a carriage like he's a widdle horsie
Maine looking good!
