Has anyone used a helicon mic mechanic 2 for recording vocals?

I downloaded the Anthropic IPO Prospectus PDF. They forced me to register for their newsletter to do it… blech. If you would like to see the prospectus without handing over (more) information to them here is a link to download it directly from my blog. Be gentle please lol (https://chrisalemany.ca/docs/Prospectus.pdf)
It’s 421 pages. I searched for the word “humanity”.
It appears 23 times.
I’ve listed the different phrasings below, all are in a positive context/narrative except for one “risks to humanity” which is mentioned on Page 83 as a potential investment risk due to “Unfavourable media coverage”.
10 “Benefit(s) (of/to) humanity”
2 “Bring humanity safely”
2 “Solving humanity’s”
1 “Plagued humanity”
1 “Risks to humanity” (positive)
1 “Risks to humanity” (negative)
2 “Work for humanity”
1 “Outcomes for humanity”
1 “Serve all of humanity”
1 “Impact on humanity”
1 “problems facing humanity”
The full sentence on the negative risk to their investors from “media coverage”:
"This coverage and commentary have included, and we expect will continue to include, recurring narratives concerning the potential adverse societal impacts of AI, including that AI may displace or eliminate jobs, may be misused or otherwise cause harm, and may pose catastrophic or existential risks to humanity. "
I would say “imagine writing that!” but of course… we all know a human did not write this document.
@chris ah, so the plague is cited at least once! 😅
SuSE Linux goes hard slop
actual reason for layoffs: private equity owners
@davidgerard AI seems to be able to replace anyone nowadays, except senior management. Funny how that works isn't it.
I just installed SuSE on a spare drive a couple of weeks ago and now I have to remove ten percent of it. 😞 Linux is weird.

I don’t think the mods there are going to let you.
What would be the motivation? Private collectors? Is that a thing?
There some people in Germany and China who pay outrageous sums for certain ants maybe someone told them what to get? IDK
What is the point of having a colony you can't show to anyone because everyone know they are protected? Pretend you raised a queen?
Even then you can't even collect queens, but that's at least not as destructive as collecting a live colony. It might not survive.
It's wretched.
I hadn't spotted the Shelly Camera before.
Local recording (to a microSD card), HomeAssistant integration (Wi-Fi, but I'm not sure if it can handle an encrypted video stream), and not an absurd price.
@neil interesting but I don't personally understand why people want indoor cameras

Well I only got one notification but I guess it’s because you answered to my question and it would be stupid to have two notification (one for the ping and one for the answer)
Ah yes, there is probably a check for that kind of situations

If Kevin O'Leary's Wonder Valley data centre goes ahead, "about 23 Hiroshima-sized atomic bombs worth of energy every single day will get dumped into that landscape (…) The effect will almost certainly be large, if not extreme".
"I can't imagine allowing it to go forward without those full assessments"; if built, it has the potential to be "the largest single-site heat source on the entire planet":

@erincandescent Remind me not to come over when it's that dry - I tend to build up static very easily (the floofy hair when not tied back very much contributes) so I'd imagine if I touched the dog bed we'd together unleash a big enough discharge to fry half your electronics :P

Good news. The Roberts court has already denied the Trump regime’s motion. https://www.supremecourt.gov/orders/courtorders/110226zr_3eb4.pdf 1/ #LawFedi
@heidilifeldman We know they're well beyond deciding such issues on the basis of law or merit.
So, I think this means they're also reading the tea leaves and expecting an R wipeout tomorrow. (I hope!)

@erincandescent 🤔... some kind of grounding cable for the bed? or maybe a comically sized grounding wrist strap so big it could be a collar? Honestly I am amused at the idea of a dog fusona character in a electronics factory wearing this as standard issue equipment
Everyone always talks about not preaching to the choir, but honestly, is the choir even paying attention? They're busy singing.

@PicardTips Been trying to tell people this for a long time, Admiral.

@limebar I don't have my own shop, but the Embroiderers Guild UK have published a book I wrote, about embroidery and Egyptology :
https://www.mymagazinesub.co.uk/embroidery/merchandise/details/dreams-of-amarna/
It has musings on storytelling in stitch and about becoming an artist, and it is copiously illustrated with photos of my embroidery and my watercolours. I commend it to the curious!
