@joomy I don't care if this isn't true, if it isn't. It is part of my cannon now

Is there a way to not see duplicate of the same topic across different communities?
Hi everyone!
I’m really enjoying the Fediverse through Lemmy and Peertube.
One creator I enjoy and follow on the Fediverse is Gardiner Bryant as his content is really enjoyable.
Sadly he ´s the target of my post as he shares his content on many different communities that I follow.
Today I had 5 times the same topic on RetroDeck (great project too) on my feed on Lemmy (Voyager).
It is the same on PieFed (Interstellar).
This is really annoying and I haven’t found a way to not show these duplicates. Do you know about one or is it worked on?
Also when crossposting, it would be great if everything appeared under on post. Is it feasible?
Sorry if it’s easy and I just missed it. In a way I hope it is because it would mean that the Fediverse is festure rich😇
Chemistry lab required "closed-toe shoes". Stupid student wore dainty little shoes that covered her toes but not the tops of her feet, then argued with me over rules. Shrugged and let her have her way. Felt absolute glee two weeks later when she spilled strong alkali on her feet.
@fesshole if you're a TA in this situation, odds are very good that you're going to lose your TA position, as you've shown you can't be trusted, which may cost you the ability to finish your PhD.
If you're an instructor, it's rare to have tenure, and very likely your contract won't get renewed.
But sure, I'm sure this happened and isn't just some weird, vaguely misogynist revenge fantasy.
A missing KDE tablet feature turned into a working handwriting mode through an AI-assisted side project. ✍️
The result combines open source handwriting recognition, stylus input, and human-led debugging across an unfamiliar software stack.

In Lemmy, no way.
In Tesseract (yes, that Tesseract!) there was a partial way, but only if the posts happened to come in as part of the same batch when accessing the instance. db0 helpfully made a fork of that, but the community outcry was so enormous that several instances simply dropped support of it entirely rather than switch to using that fork.
In PieFed, partially, but only for those sharing the same URL (like these examples probably do?) - so text-only posts do not qualify.
And then 3rd-party apps add a whole new dimension to this, by replacing the Lemmy/PieFed/PyLova/Mbin front-end with their own stuff. Note that Voyager provides only rudimentary support for PieFed. Overall, app support for the improvements that PieFed makes over Lemmy is still fairly shitty, sorry to say - note that you can tweak some settings in a web browser (like user blocks & such that are entirely impossible in Lemmy) and then that affects your using the 3rd-party app on a more daily basis, but many of the more advanced features of PieFed/PyLova are still inaccessible from most 3rd-party apps. See this wiki page for more details - like “Crosspost comment merge” is only supported in Interstellar, and some features (like a mod locking a post) is not available from any app, iOS or Android.
Lemmy is the same way - reducing such crossposts an extremely often-requested feature, for both software platforms, but so far I think only PieFed accessed via a web browser can do it even partially. Or certain 3rd-party apps (not sure which ones, though I’ve looked at several FLOSS offerings and did not see that - maybe only paid ones do?)
When innocence is forced to shoulder the weight of mountains—and when childhood is violated on the very edge of thirst!
What kind of cruelty compels a small, frail child—with delicate hands and a slender frame—to stand alone, battling the heavy burden of water and the crushing weight of life’s hardships?
Orphaned children, left without a guardian, find themselves starkly exposed to life’s harshest realities: the loss of a father and the agonizing scarcity of water. Their fragile shoulders—meant only for play and tender care—now buckle under the weight of heavy containers and overwhelming responsibilities.
One of them stoops to pour a few drops of water into a vessel, as if pouring out his very soul and his exhausted childhood—in a world that has abandoned them all. It is a sight that makes the heart bleed and stirs the conscience of any living soul: orphans in agony, their tender bodies gnawed by thirst, with no one to come to their aid!
How long must this injustice continue to weigh upon the shoulders of innocent children?
💔 Have mercy on their vulnerability; they are left without a father—and without a sense of safety.

Yesterday, in a hostile 60 Minutes interview with a Bari Weiss acolyte who once called trans kids a “social contagion,” El-Sayed refused to budge on trans rights.
“A failure to show up and fight for that right is a failure to show up and fight for your own.”

@smallcircles @Steve_Bate yes that is much more the kind of thing I think works for AP (yes I know we are reinventing the Semantic Web lol)
Well.. AP is a linked data standard, so perhaps we are like expanding the semantic web :D
I like to think about the AP social web as a message oriented architecture, where at the endpoints linked data gathers. It splits conceptually in a distributed message bus of sorts and a Knowledge API. As in the sketch below:
